Skilled Laborer

Description We are a fast-paced, growing construction company that delivers safety, quality, and on-time work, that specializes in heavy civil construction that includes earthwork, concrete work, steel erection and more. The Skilled Construction Laborer will provide support to Skilled Craft workers and the successful completion of construction and engineering work. This position will work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervisor. Must have the ability to take direction from a higher skilled worker or foreman. Key Responsibilities • Learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools and equipment. • Look for opportunities for improvement in all work tasks, means and methods regarding the work and be willing to learn from others. • Produce high quality work, safely and productively at all times. • Provide feedback to ensure all materials, tools, equipment and information is available for the work. • If unsure about any aspect of the work or issues regarding safe practices ask a supervisor before continuing. • Eliminate WASTE such as waiting, rework, transporting, material storage and time. • Effective Math skills - add, subtract, multiply and divide. • Learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work. • Maintain positive working relationships with all members of the crew. Required Skills and Abilities: • At least 1 year experience of general construction. • Must have reliable transportation. • Must be able to lift 25-50 lbs. • Must pass a pre-employment drug test • Must be willing to travel to various project sites as needed. Preferred Skills and Abilities: • 2 or more years' experience of general construction. Any and all other duties assigned. Will be required to work on project sites and operate vehicles, trailers, machinery, equipment and other tools within local, state and federal safety guidelines. This position operates in a professional field environment. The position requires working outside, frequently for long periods of time in all weather, including extreme hot and cold temperatures. While working, the employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, virus or other air-borne pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines and dust/debris. Heavy Equipment Operator

The Equipment Operator will provide support to successful completion of construction and engineering work Operate all heavy equipment like cranes, earth movers, bulldozers, front-end loaders, and other related equipment. Operate the equipment in the right direction and angles to prevent accidents and damage of property. Operate and manage the equipment or machines in a safe and secure way. Perform periodical safety, maintenance, or servicing checks to ensure proper functioning of the equipment. Perform minor repair works when malfunctioning occur. Inform and advise the supervisor or equipment manager for major repairs or major maintenance. The ideal person will be self-motivated and have attention to detail, have a working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques. The Construction & Maintenance Technician position pays between $43,672 to $54,590, and the Senior Construction & Maintenance Technician position pays between $49,440 to $61,800. Placement is based on skills, experience and education of the successful candidate. This pay range is composed of a current base pay range of $42,400 to $53,000 and $48,000 to $60,000 with 3% supplemental pay, which is administered in accordance with NMGC's Supplemental Pay Policy.
