Summary: This position is responsible for setting up and operating one or more of the following pieces of equipment: milling machines, lathes, saws and any other pieces of equipment that are required to perform the daily task. Primary Responsibilities: The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: • Follow directions from the Value Stream Manager of the PBU or their designee. • Adhere to all Environmental, Health & Safety rules. • Help support and maintain all 6S standards in your immediate work area and others as needed. • Follow instructions and guidelines. • Work with close tolerances turning and/or milling. • Make sure all safety equipment and safety regulations are adhered to when operating machinery. • Maintain a 40-hour work week and ability to work overtime as needed. • Perform other job-related duties as directed. • Adhere to ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, and OSHAS 18801 certification requirements. • Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment for all employees. • Requires regular attendance per the schedule assigned by supervisor. Knowledge and Skill Requirement: This position should possess the following skills/knowledge: • High school diploma. • 3 years’ experience operating CNC mills and/or CNC lathes. • Good working knowledge of calculating angles and Radius’s. (preferred) • Ability to proficiently operate over head and jib cranes. • Good working knowledge of standard shop mathematics. • Ability to fluently read and write G-Code. • Ability to effectively use measuring equipment such as calipers (digital, dial and vernier), Micrometers, pie tapes, tape measure etc. • Able to work from blueprints, sketches and/or verbal descriptions for planning operational sequences. Environmental / Atmospheric Conditions: • Typical office/factory environment with possibility of exposure to heat in production areas. Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in a safe manner. • Must be able to perform repetitive motion. Examples: walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods of time. • Clarity of vision and the ability to focus on a fast and repetitious operation for extended period of time. • Exposure to machine noise levels (hearing protection required). • Exposure to heavy equipment or components needed to produce product (safety-toed shoes required). • Exposure to electrical and mechanical moving parts. • Exposure to sparks, chips, and dust (eye protection required).
