Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining processes and a keen understanding of mechanical systems. This role involves operating various manual and CNC machines, interpreting blueprints, and ensuring precision in all aspects of production. The Manual Machinist will play a crucial role in producing high-quality components that meet strict specifications. Responsibilities • Operate manual lathes, milling machines, and other machining equipment to fabricate parts according to specifications. • Perform CNC programming and setup for CNC lathes and milling machines as needed. • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to determine machining requirements. • Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to ensure accuracy. • Conduct electrical discharge machining (EDM) when required for specific projects. • Maintain tooling and hand tools in good working condition; perform routine maintenance on machinery. • Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize manufacturing processes using lean manufacturing principles. • Assemble components as necessary and support the production team with various tasks including welding and plastics injection molding. • Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean work environment. Requirements • Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or similar role in a manufacturing environment. • Proficiency in CNC programming, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), CAM programming, and SolidWorks. • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot machining issues effectively. • Familiarity with basic math concepts relevant to machining tasks. • Experience using power tools, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments. • Knowledge of Fanuc controls is preferred but not mandatory. • Ability to operate forklifts safely is a plus. • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work. • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
