Machine Operator 2nd Shift

Must be able to pass a background and drug test Must be able to work 4:45 pm to 3:30 am Overview We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating various machines, including CNC milling machines, stamping presses, and flexo presses. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As a Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the production process runs smoothly and efficiently. Duties • Operate and monitor various machinery, including CNC lathes, press brake machines, and flexo presses. • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine specifications for machining operations. • Set up machines for production runs, including loading materials and adjusting settings as necessary. • Perform quality control checks using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to ensure products meet specifications. • Maintain accurate records of production output and machine performance. • Troubleshoot machine issues and perform basic maintenance to ensure optimal operation. • Collaborate with team members on the assembly line to meet production goals. • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment. Requirements • Proven experience in a manufacturing facility or factory setting is preferred. • Familiarity with Fanuc controls, programmable logic controllers (PLC), and CNC programming is highly desirable. • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles. • Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks for design purposes is an asset. • Proficient in the use of hand tools and basic math skills for measurements and calculations. • Ability to operate forklifts and handle materials safely within the warehouse environment. • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in machining, fabrication, packaging, and assembly processes. • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality control throughout the production process. • Willingness to learn new skills related to tooling, materials handling, welding, and other manufacturing techniques. This position is responsible for the safe set-up, operations and preventative maintenance for CNC Milling or Lathe Machines to produce fork truck attachments that meet quality specifications while adhering to specified blueprints, schematics, work instructions and optimizing tool life to meet daily production requirements. This position is dedicated to getting the job done right the first time and promotes a safe work environment focused on overall continuous improvement and world-class manufacturing. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS · Safely set-up, operate and maintain CNC Milling or Lathe Machines (Mazak, , OKK, Okuma, Hass, etc.) to produce parts that meet quality specifications while optimizing tool life. · Safely perform set ups to include selecting appropriate machine programs, set up vices, and make necessary adjustment to machine, tooling and wheels to maintain specified tolerances. · Safely operate overhead crane system, various lifting devices and fork trucks · Read, understand production schedule, prioritize daily workload taking into account material availability, and change over down time optimization. · Retrieve, read and understand product prints and use specified gauges to assure proper tolerances, and make necessary adjustments to machine, tooling and wheels. · Safely perform Quality Checks per requirements · Safely perform daily start up duties, maintain proper oil and coolant levels, keep equipment and work area clean and in proper operating conditions · Report issues and discuss solutions with team lead and advise team lead and/or manager of problems with inventory, material, process, delinquencies or other production issues. · Accurately and neatly complete all required production documentation · Keep area clean and organized. · Participate in continuous improvement initiatives. · Ability to work in a team environment. QUALIFICATIONS · Basic knowledge of CNC Mill/Lathe Operations · Basic knowledge of common Machining Blue Print features and functions · Basic knowledge of math functions · Basic knowledge of measuring functions and calculations · Ability to work regular schedule and overtime, as required · Ability to be self-directed while effectively working with coworkers in a team environment · Ability to read and follow safety and work instructions, procedures and policies · Ability to accurately and neatly complete required production documentation · Demonstrated ability to consistently work safely · Demonstrated ability to consistently produce quality product EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE High School diploma or GED required. Requires 1-3 years of manufacturing experience (or less if specialized training and/or certification has been acquired). Computer literacy required. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Work is performed in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. This is a full-time position and typically runs Monday through Thursday generally from 5:00 AM through 3:30 PM. Mandatory overtime may be required for the individual to work more than 10 consecutive hours at a time and/or more than 40 hours in a seven-day period as business conditions deem necessary. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand/walk for the duration of the shift. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Employees are required to use dual lift or lift devices for heavier loads. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
