GENERAL DESCRIPTION - PURPOSE OF ROLE: The Machinist is responsible for operating machine tools to produce precision metal parts and components according to engineering specifications. They work with a variety of tools and equipment, such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and computer-controlled machines, to fabricate parts for use in manufacturing and production processes. Identify and troubleshoot issues with machine tools, tooling, or work pieces during the machining process, and make adjustments or repairs as needed to maintain quality and efficiency . Perform routine maintenance tasks on machine tools, including cleaning, Iubrication, and minor repairs, to ensure optimal performance and longevity o Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), following machine safety guidelines, and reporting safety hazards or concerns o Maintain accurate records of machining operations, including job setups, tooling changes, production counts, and quality inspection results, in accordance with company policies and procedures Qualifications and Experience: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
