Job Description Location: Tifton, GA - 100% Onsite As the Tool & Die Machinist III, you'll design, build and repair a variety of tools, jigs, fixtures, welding, brazing and assembly fixtures. • Responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. • Tasks include fabricating, modifying, or repairing mechanical instruments and industrial machines. • Also be responsible for ensuring equipment is maintained and in good working condition, adhering to safety standards and protocols, and collaborating with team members to achieve production goals. • Analyze specifications, lays-out metal stock, sets up and operates a wide variety of exact tolerance machine tools. • Fit and assemble parts to fabricate and repair metal working dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and machinists' hand tools. • Modify dies to conform to engineering changes. • Troubleshoot equipment and makes complex repairs. • Provide assistance and guidance to apprentices and lower level employees. Qualifications WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have the following: • Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • A two year degree or equivalent is preferred. • Requires 3-5 years related experience. • Proficiency in setting up and operating machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders. • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics. • Knowledge of precision measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges. • Skills in troubleshooting and performing preventive maintenance on machinery. • Able to efficiently and accurately set-up and operate to exacting tolerance, manual or CNC machine tools. • Able to diagnose complex progressive, forming and stamping dies. • Requires strong mathematical and analytical abilities. • Strong attention to detail and quality control. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Understanding of safety protocols and standards. • Must be able to move at least 50 pounds. Job Title: Machine Operator 1 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Department: Operations Reports to: Assistant Manager, Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE: Machine Operator 1 (MO1) is responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing company railway maintenance and inspection equipment. This position can operate Loram’s on track MOW equipment and/or on track vehicles with supervision in both operating and travel modes. In this role you may be assigned to various types of equipment platforms dependent on business needs and demands. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Safety Focused • Ability to lead a comprehensive and appropriate job briefing during operations shifts, maintenance shifts, and while conducting maintenance tasks. • Consistently follows safe work processes, procedures and rules • Understands on track safety and can explain specifics when asked • Able to locate all emergency equipment and demonstrate correct operation Machine Operations and Technical Knowledge • Conducts machine inspections to identify problems, defects, changes, and hazards and communicates conditions to the operator or supervisor and performs common repairs as instructed.
