Job Description Under general supervision, designs, builds and repairs a variety of tools, jigs, fixtures, welding, brazing, and assembly fixtures. Responsible for guiding and training other tool makers. Analyzes specifications, lays-out metal stock, sets up and operates a wide variety of exact tolerance machine tools. Fits and assembles parts to fabricate and repair metal working dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and machinists' hand tools. Modifies dies to conform to engineering changes. Troubleshoots equipment and makes complex repairs. Qualifications Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires 1-3 years related experience or training. Moderate knowledge of how to tear down units, trouble shoot for problems, determine extent of troubles, repair damage mechanism or replace worn or defective parts and reassemble. Some knowledge of how to select the best material suited for specific purposes, troubleshoot and diagnose problems with metalworking dies and other tooling. What We Are Looking For WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have the following: • Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • A two year degree or equivalent is preferred. • Requires 3-5 years related experience. • Proficiency in setting up and operating machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders. • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics. • Knowledge of precision measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges. • Skills in troubleshooting and performing preventive maintenance on machinery. • Able to efficiently and accurately set-up and operate to exacting tolerance, manual or CNC machine tools. • Able to diagnose complex progressive, forming and stamping dies. • Requires strong mathematical and analytical abilities. • Strong attention to detail and quality control. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Understanding of safety protocols and standards. • Must be able to move at least 50 pounds. Factors that may affect starting pay include geography/market, and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible to earn overtime when they work more than 40 hours in a week (or as otherwise required by state law). JOB SUMMARY Responsible for safe and effective operation of all pillow manufacturing equipment. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintenance • Maintains Pillow Production areas ensuring that all inside and outside areas are free from debris and other hazards, maintaining a safe and clean working environment. • Assists with performing repairs to the Company's equipment. Safety • Follows Companywide safety policies to prevent employee accidents and injuries. • Responsible for ensuring all equipment guards are in place and all safety equipment is in place and operational, including but not limited to lockout-tagout. Production • Responsible for filling feed hoppers of Garnett machine with appropriate fibers. • Will also be responsible for reporting accurate production performance, downtime, and runtime for each work order utilizing touch screen and RF equipment as well as maintaining other pertinent production information as required. • Responsible for machine set up for each work order, verifying component parts are pulled to production area for start of production. • Working with QC to verify pillows are producing at ATC specifications. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: • 2+ Years Machine Maintenance Experience • High School Diploma or equivalent. • PC skills required. • Strong anylitical / problem solving skills are essential • Solid Math skills. • Experience with basic equipment repair. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Ability to frequently lift objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds. • Ability to frequently carry objects weighing up to and including 25 pounds. • Ability to push and/or pull objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds. • Ability to withstand exposure to extreme climate variations; exposure to heat and cold. • Ability to crawl, bend, kneel, climb and/or squat. • Ability to frequently stand/walk.
