Position Summary Setup and operate Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) lathes and/or mills. Primarily responsible for setting up and operating equipment with some program editing and offsetting on a variety of parts. Responsible for meeting dimensional requirements. May assist lower-level operators. • Performing limited editing and offsetting of programs. • Utilize standard measuring devices such as caliper and micrometer to meet quality requirements while maintaining productivity levels during the manufacturing process. • Operators within and adheres to general plant rules and policies governing workplace Education Degree • High School Diploma or GED Preferred Experience • High school education or equivalent. • CNC machining experience of 3-5 years or technical degree. • Ability to read and understand blueprints, process routers and Standard Operating Procedures. • Performance of operations which require finite motor skills. • Posture is primarily standing with limited sitting. Limited bending or twisting required. • Movement of product weighing up to fifty pounds from one workstation to another. • Visual acuity adequate to detect subtle visual product non-conformities. Daily responsibilities include setup and operation of the machine, minor programming modifications (when needed), quality checks, and regular and preventative maintenance procedures.
