Job Title: Research Lab Supervisor"> As a research lab supervisor, you will oversee the personnel and operational activities of a large research laboratory. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all research projects are executed safely and efficiently. Diagnostic Imaging Specialist Opportunity This role is focused on delivering high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic exams. Key Responsibilities: • Perform Nuclear Medicine duties, ensuring the highest standard of patient care. • Maintain excellent patient relationship skills and provide exceptional customer service. • Ensure accurate record keeping and attention to detail throughout all procedures. • Calculate, measure, and record radiation dosage of radiopharmaceuticals received, used, and disposed. • Clearly explain test procedures and safety precautions to patients, providing assistance during exams as needed. • Administer radiopharmaceuticals or radiation to patients to detect or treat diseases, utilizing radioisotope equipment effectively. • Properly receive, store, and dispose of radioactive materials, adhering to strict radiation safety procedures. • Schedule appointments and notify relevant parties accordingly. • Wear radiation exposure badges at all times, utilize safety equipment to minimize exposure, and wear gloves, syringes, and universal precautions as required. • Maintain accurate records, including NOPR and insurance documentation. • Collect and maintain records per hospital procedure and NRC requirements. • Ensure pre-authorization for PET scans and unsealed source treatments is obtained accurately. • Enter charges for patient billing correctly. • Oversee scanner scheduling and ensure smooth operations. • Assist with CT scans, PET/CT scans, and diagnostic studies. • Operate the scanner in collaboration with diagnostic and therapeutic departments, assisting with biopsies, therapy planning, and other procedures. • Perform daily warm-up and safety checks according to established procedures. • Contribute to Quality Improvement initiatives and report any machine malfunctions or errors promptly. • Train and supervise students and/or other nuclear medicine technicians. Education and Qualifications: • Graduate of an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology program (ARRT or NMTCB). Experience: • A minimum of three years' experience in nuclear medicine is required, with two years' experience in CT preferred. PET experience is highly valued. Certification and Licensure: • Current certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certifying Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine is mandatory. ARRT CT registration or PET certification is preferred. Current American Heart Association BLS certification is required. Mental and Physical Requirements: • Close mental and visual attention are necessary for sustained periods. Work can be stressful due to the nature of patients' conditions. Maximum weight to be lifted independently or carried: 35 lbs. Standing, moderate walking, carrying, turning, stooping, and reaching are required. Adequate sight, hearing, and sitting for periods are essential. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely is necessary. General knowledge of computers is required. Working Conditions: • Standard radiation worker safety health hazards are inherent in this position. Exposure to radioactive materials requires adherence to strict radiation safety practices. Occasional exposure to blood/body fluid, infectious diseases, and biohazard materials may occur. A flexible schedule and on-call status may be required.
