Job Summary- • *The hourly rate for this position is $26.02/ hour. First Shift General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, a premier provider of ordnance weapons and tactical systems to the U.S. Department of Defense and allied nations, is seeking Machinist's to join our Saco Operations team. We are about supporting the mission of the warfighter. Our products can be found with every U.S. Military branch with allies around the world. We are looking for motivated and creative individuals who want to help shape and support this organization. The Machinist #3 loads, operates, and unloads a variety of conventional machines, presses, saws, and other industrial related equipment to produce parts per manufacturing process. Ensures parts are within the specified tolerances using the prescribed gages. Responsibilities- Employees will have primary responsibilities in one or more of these job disciplines: • Qualifier • Lathes Chamberer • Broacher Rifling • Straightener • Cut Off Saw Operator • Grinder Cylindrical • Deep Hole Driller May be required to perform other duties as required by management. Must have physical ability to frequently lift, move, adjust, etc. items weighing approximately 35 lbs. Qualifications- • High school diploma or GED. • Employee must have basic computer skills and may be required to enter and verify information into written forms or database(s) as appropriate. • Average 8 months; Includes 4 months through 1 year. • Must be capable of gaging and inspecting parts. • Basic ability in shop math skills.

Position Summary The ASA Saw/Machine Operator position's primary duties include, but are not limited to, the setup and operation of machines and completing some secondary operations most productively and efficiently possible. It is the Machine Operator’s responsibility to maintain and ensure the quality of the products produced meet the highest level of quality and the customers’ requirements. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for material handling, packaging, and machine maintenance, including keeping the machine and your work area clean. What You’ll Do • Foster a culture of safety awareness and safety prioritization. • Ensure that quality standards are met, and champion quality ownership of the work center. • Follow all company rules, policies, and procedures; communicate issues or concerns with division management and/or Corporate. • Setup and Operate Saws / cutting machines, grinders, or other pieces of equipment, as directed by the Production Supervisor and Operations Manager. • Inspect material before processing for damage and / or quality defects. • Perform visual and measured quality inspections during production to ensure products meet the required specifications. • Utilize and read the appropriate measuring instruments. • Pack parts as specified on the Work Order or as communicated by the Production Supervisor or Operations Manager. • Review paperwork for accuracy and confirm that any special requests called out on the Work Order are understood. • Regularly clean and conduct specified routine maintenance on machines to ensure they are in optimum working condition. • Perform any other tasks or duties as assigned by the division and/or corporate management team. Required Skill and Experience • 1 – 2 years of production experience is required. • Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment preferred. • Experience operating Vertical and Horizontal Band Saws or other metal cutting equipment required. • Forklift/Overhead Crane Certified preferred. • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism. • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities. • Strong attention to detail, process oriented, with excellent judgement skills are essential. • Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently. • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, in English. • Must be able to keep client, company, and employee matters strictly confidential. Education Requirements • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent such as a GED, is required. • Technical school and/or practical experience is highly preferred. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: • None ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, CAD files, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters. • Determines the fixtures, attachments, and tools necessary to complete jobs according to specifications and mount them to machine prior to beginning cutting. • Sets-up CNC lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, and stops using appropriate gauges and fixtures to check and assure all work and dimensional specs are met. • Programs and operates mills and lathes by entering instructions and monitoring operations. • Verifies incoming work orders for correct material. • Maintains specifications by observing machines operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls, adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. • Monitors machine temperatures, ensures that machine has adequate warm-up and cool-down time between jobs and replaces coolant periodically. • Calculates requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry. • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions. • Recognizes improper machine functioning and defects in machinery, measuring instruments or equipment and immediately addresses the problem. • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements. • Uses a wide variety of precision measuring instruments; maintains accurate dimensional tolerances based upon drawings. • Maintains safe operation by adhering to safety procedures and protocols. • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs. • Meets production output goals, ensures quality of all machined parts. • Functions autonomously and in a team environment. • Maintains a clean and safe working area.
