Field/Onsite Machinist C

**Job Description Summary** Machinist technicians are expected to perform various operations at customer sites inside a power plant. Power plants may be nuclear fueled. • *Job Description** • *Roles and Responsibilities:** • *Qualifications:** - Ability and willingness to accept all domestic and international assignments, including nuclear plant work Ability to gain unescorted access into a Nuclear facility - 100% travel - Proficient with computers/software applications - Demonstrates strong EHS values; participation in all EHS programs and a champion of No Harm - Conducts him/herself in a professional manner at all times • *Desired Characteristics:** Techs must operate or will be trained to operate all types of machine tools and balancing equipment, involving close tolerance work, intricate, set ups, and development. They must be able to diagnose and correct mechanical trouble on mechanical and electrical equipment or will be trained. They should be able to or be trained to completely disassemble, realign and reassemble steam turbine components, replacing or repairing the various parts as required. Included in these operations, among other things are: removing and reinstalling turbine wheels, rebucketing of rotors, nozzle scrapping, operate machine tools as necessary to repair parts, silver solder, brazing and red dye inspection as required. All of the above can be trained at a Learning Center. Do not have to have all of the skills above in order to apply. The pay for this position is $36.72. This position is also eligible for a night shift bonus. This posting is expected to close on 8/1/2025. • ** Machinists _are required to travel domestically/internationally in coach class via air and drive for long periods of time in standard size vehicles. Tech assignments vary working in often difficult, sometimes extreme conditions indoor and outdoor. Machinists are required to walk long distances, stand, kneel, sit and climb multiple flights of stairs for various durations throughout their day. This work may also include long duration kneeling and in crouched positions. Machinists need to demonstrate full range of motion and dexterity to perform_ essential job functions. _During peak seasons, machinists typically work 12+hrs for extended durations either dayshift or nightshift. Machinists are required to use hard hats, safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection and safety toe work boots; some jobs and job tasks require wearing respirators.
