Job Type: Full-time non-exempt / On Site Claremont, NH Work Schedule: Day Shift – Monday to Friday Education: High school or equivalent and/or vocational training or an apprenticeship Job Summary: The machinist is responsible for operating a variety of machines to perform assigned tasks. You will process or repair precision parts using both manual and automated equipment and accurate measurements. The machinist needs to possess manual dexterity and an eye for detail. They must also have knowledge of mathematics and mechanics as well as respect for safety precautions. The goal is to ensure effective production operations and optimize procedures. Duties/Responsibilities: • Proven experience as machinist • Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (e.g. vertical mills, wire saw, lathes, etc.) • Ability to read, interpret, and follow job tags, work instructions and blueprints/schematics • Must have a working knowledge of machine setups for customized parts (e.g. general securing of parts, location datum offsets, tool height offsets) • Ability to perform quality checks using precision tools (e.g. vernier calipers, micrometers, pie tap, measuring rule) to take/record accurate measurements • Ability to make necessary adjustments to hold dimensions and tolerances. • Ability to adjust machines speeds and feed as needed • Ability to operate machines in a safe manner to meet production requirements. • Maintain machine with regular maintenance - including cleaning, greasing and fluid levels.
