CNC Operator "Split Shift" (9:30am - 8:00pm) 4 weekdays

Description: Thos. Moser Cabinetmakers is a maker of beautiful hardwood furniture that has been in business for over 50 years in Auburn, Maine and we are looking for a CNC machine operator to work our split shift (9:30am - 8:00pm). In addition to working a 4 day work schedule, you will also be paid a shift differential for this role. If you have limited skills and experience, Thos. Moser is willing to train the right person. The CNC Operator will be responsible preparing the material for the machine and setting up the machine with various jigs and fixtures to secure the end product. Using the CNC programs, the operator will be responsible for safely fabricating high quality machined furniture components. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Assist in the selection of tools and position and secure work pieces in fixtures or holding devices. • Perform first piece inspection using precision measuring tools and prints to ensure parts are machined to specifications. • Follow a manufacturing plan that ensures the highest level of productivity without compromising safety. • Confer with your Supervisor with any machine malfunctions and production errors • Must display an organized workstation, free from cutoffs and clutter to minimize the potential for an unsafe operating environment. • Produce parts that meet all quality criterion, while maintaining an acceptable production rate based on pre-established standards. • Train coworkers as needed Requirements: • High School diploma or GED certificate • Experience with 3 and 5 axis CNC mills is a plus • Organized and able to read measuring instruments • Basic Math Skills • Safety awareness
