Machine Operator II

Carris Reels, Inc. has 3 open positions for Machine Operator ll in our Bonham Texas location! • One 1st shift**opening and**Two 2nd shift**openings. Under supervision of the Department Supervisor, our Machine Operators will operate woodworking machines, such as drill presses, saws, molder, slotter, routers, edger, and wood-nailing machines to perform woodworking operations. Essential Functions/Job Requirements • Keep the work area safe and clean, while in the process of producing wood products. • Perform work in high production assembly line facility. • Set up, operate, and tend drill, routers, planer, saw, slotter, and wood-nailing machines. • Cut, shape, and smooth wooden parts. • Verify dimensions using tape measure. • Operate specialized pieces of woodworking machinery. • Complete all stages of woodworking process. • Apply paint to raw wood. • Examines finished workpiece for smoothness, shape, angle, depth-of-cut and conformity to specifications, visually and using hands, rule, or other gauges. • Examines raw wood stock for defects and to ensure conformity to size and other specification standards. • Hand-stacks on pallet or conveyor or controls hoist to remove part or product from workstation. • Must be able to safely operate the forklift in the day-to-day operations. Qualifications • Ability to work safely in all conditions. • Ability to work in hot and cold environments. • Ability to read tape measure. • Ability to read spec sheets. • Must be detail oriented and have a strong desire to learn. • Ability to handle physical requirements, including but not limited to, kneeling, repeated bending, stretching, twisting, and lifting of up to 80 lbs. • Able to complete part requisition forms and work-order paperwork to document work performed. • Focused on strictly adhering to safety procedures such as lock-out, tag-out, and required PPE." • Results-oriented • Self-motivated and able to work independently • Skilled in troubleshooting and problem solving • Organized with strong time management skills • Good communicators, able to work through problems with other team members. Essential Functions Of The Job Continuous Bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, stretching, twisting, lifting up to 80lbs, pulling, pushing, walking, use of both hands and feet, continuous movement of both arms and legs.
