Our CNC Machine Operators/Machinists are responsible for assisting the team in the production of our high-quality Piper aircraft that support the Piper Aircraft brand. Our CNC Machine Operators/Machinist are tasked to follow Piper drawings, process specifications (PPS) and other manufacturing instructions to meet or exceed planned production and delivery schedules while maximizing company resources to achieve company goals. CNC Machine Operator I ($23/hr - $27/hr) Essential Job Functions: Performs or assists the Supervisor in the following tasks: Maintaining compliance with Piper QAM/QIM and FAA requirements. Perform machining of aluminum, stainless steel and steel parts on all 3 axis and up mills, lathes and live tooling. Inspect and buying off own and other Teammate's work using Piper inspection certifications. Assist with maintaining effective Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned programs. Able to check simple dimensions using simple calibrated tools. Able to perform simple necessary tasks such as touching off tools, loading programs, setting work coordinates, loading fixtures and loading parts/material. Perform other duties as assigned by supervision. CNC Machine Operator II ($30/hr - $32/hr) Essential Job Functions: Performs or assists the Supervisor in all of the tasks listed above as well as the following tasks: Maintaining compliance with Piper QAM/QIM and FAA requirements. Perform machining of aluminum, stainless steel and steel parts on all 3 axis and up mills, lathes and live tooling. Inspect and buying off own and other Teammate's work using Piper inspection certifications. Conduct training and cross training of Team Members to attain acceptable levels of performance. Assist with maintaining effective Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned programs. Able to comp tools in diameter and length. Senior CNC Machine Operator ($33/hr - $35/hr) Serves as the lead with the a bility to and willingness to receive and share practical knowledge, train, cross-train and mentor teammates within career path to perform necessary job functions and requirements in order to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity. Operates all Machine Shop CNC Mills, or all CNC lathes, or all Manual/Vertical Mills. Performs root cause and corrective action of nonconforming material in order to reduce Machine Shop defects and scrap material. Improves Machine Shop operational performance by completing cost savings activities such as tooling improvements, reduction of set up times, eliminating waste, etc. Serves as lead with the ability to guide and willingness to receive and share practical knowledge, train, cross-train and mentor teammates within career path to perform necessary job functions and requirements in order to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity. Adhere, maintain, assist and train teammates within career path to all departmental compliance requirements such as Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned programs. Perform audits of areas within the department as required to maintain compliance with all FAA and Piper operational requirements. Initiate related operational process or procedural corrective action , or request additional assistance from leadership or other support teams where necessary. The Coating Operator is responsible for all activities related to the coating of the product as per formula instructions. Also, responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) that are in effect assuring the quality and quantity of product produced.
