Job Title: Machinist Job Code: 25097 Job Location: Palm Bay, FL Job Schedule: 9/80 Job Description: Responsible for the planning, layout, setup, operating and making tool adjustments for a variety of major conventional or automatic machines. Works from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions. Checks and inspects and builds machining operations against specified tolerances. May include work with fabrication, sheet metal operations, or machine hardware and assemblies. May also make recommendations concerning use of and improvement upon materials and design. Essential Functions: • Set-up and operation of CNC manufacturing and Fabrication equipment. • Checks, inspects, and builds machining operations against specified tolerances. • Working with fabrication, sheet metal operations, or machine hardware and assemblies. • Machining and fabricating various materials such as aluminum, steel, and stainless-steel materials in plate, sheet, bar, and structural forms. • Operate manual milling machine with tolerance of 0.001" true position, 0.001" flatness over 12" square, 0.001" parallel over 12" length, 0.001" concentricity over 2 set-ups, ±0.0001" ID & OD, ±0.0002" thickness and 16 surface finish. • Fabricate new build parts from engineering drawings, CADfiles, sketches. • Rework or modify of mechanical parts as requested by engineering or production. • Follow all L3Harris Quality and Manufacturing Policies. • Design of fixtures and tooling needed to fabricate parts • Maintain work area and machine shop to 5S + 1 standards. Qualifications: • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. Preferred Additional Skills: • Proficient computer skills including experience with MS Windows and office products. • Previous experience with safe fabrication/machine practices, understanding of material SDS, able to comply with wearing appropriate PPE, and follow heavy lifting criteria • Knowledge of manufacturing and Fabrication shop equipment operation and technology. • Experience operating bridgeport style knee mill with upgraded ProtTrak/Acu-Rite controller. • Previous experience with general shop measuring equipment, micrometers, calipers, gauge pins, etc. • Capable of working closely with subject matter experts and following verbal and detailed direction. • Exceptional organizational, verbal and written communication skills. • High level of initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision. • Strong sense of responsibility, ownership and follow-through. • Team player, pro-active, and customer oriented with a sense of urgency to accomplish a given task or goal. • Can support 2nd shift rotational schedule as required. • Willingness to support general shop maintenance and supplemental shop areas. • Experience with programming and design using MasterCam, AutoCad, and Creo software. #Li-Dk2 L3Harris Technologies is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. CNC Programmer/Machinist

CNC Programmer In this role, you will collaborate with the engineering team to interpret technical drawings and 3D models, creating precise machining processes for a variety of CNC machines. You will utilize CAM software to generate error-free, efficient NC programs while ensuring all processes comply with AS9100 requirements. You will independently set up and prove out new NC programs, working closely with setup and operator teams for optimal performance. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and generate NC programs using CAM software (e.g., Surfcam Traditional, MasterCAM, CAMworks) for a variety of CNC machines, including 3-, 4-, and 5-axis vertical and horizontal CNC mills, and 2- to 4-axis lathes. • Model in SolidWorks, SolidEdge, or similar CAD software to create and refine designs. • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, such as setup sheets, work instructions, and process documentation. • Read and interpret technical drawings with expertise in GD&T (ANSI Y14.5) and apply that knowledge to programming. • Design fixtures and select appropriate tooling for precision machining of parts. • Ensure compliance with AS9100 NC program and process control requirements. • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement them within established guidelines. • Troubleshoot, resolve issues, and make adjustments to NC programs as necessary. • Perform basic machine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, oil monitoring, and calibration checks. • Train and mentor new team members on CNC operations, programming techniques, and best practices. • Work with tight tolerances, such as ± .0001", to ensure precision in all machining processes. Qualifications: • High School Diploma or GED required (Associates Degree or Certification in a related field preferred). • 3-5 years of experience in CNC programming and operation. • Proficiency in MasterCAM/CAMWorks, or similar programming software. • Skilled in SolidWorks/SolidEdge or similar modeling software. • Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming. • Expertise in GD&T (ANSI Y14.5) and interpreting technical drawings. • Proficiency with common metrology instruments to ensure product specifications are met. • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve mechanical and logistical challenges. • Demonstrated knowledge of good manufacturing practices (GMP). • Ability to select tooling and machining resources effectively and efficiently.
