Be it in wind power, solar power, electronics, electric vehicles, aeronautics, space or countless other sectors, wherever technology is progressing, you will always find a bit of Mersen. • Understand specifications of the tasks at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc. • Program CNC Mills by translating instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function. • Configure machines by loading raw materials, installing necessary tools, and adjusting machine parameters (speed, feed, tool settings) based on job specifications. • Prepare test runs to check if the machines product outputs are according to specifications. • Continuously inspect parts for compliance with specifications using measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools. • Prepare and operate CNC Mills to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, etc. • Keep accurate records of machine settings, parts produced, and any adjustments made during the production process. • Enthusiasm to continually learn new skills and techniques • Maintain cleanliness in work area • Always promotes and emphasizes safety Required Skills • CNC Mill experience (three years minimum Mazak or Haas preferred) • Proficient knowledge of common CNC milling techniques and practice • Proficiency in writing and interpreting G-codes and M-codes to control CNC machine movements • Skilled in reading technical drawings and blueprints to understand the specifications of the parts being manufactured • Understanding and application of GD&T • High School Diploma or GED, preferred • Analytical and numerical skills; ability to perform mathematical calculations • Ability to work with decimals and fractions • Use of basic measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, etc.) • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment Why Join Us? Responsibilities for Machinist • Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output • Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping • Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job • Select appropriate machines (e.g. lathes) and position or load material for a job • Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues • Determine and program speed of machine • Monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects • Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages Qualifications for Machinist • Vocational school or prior experience preferred • Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail • Great verbal and written communication skills • Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.) • Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals • Knowledge of metal properties and other material • Outstanding mathematical skills and analytical abilities • Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items Additional Information: Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. $24,34 - $33.65 an hour. Job Profile The company is searching for a Machine Operator who will operate and maintain Hel-Cor mill equipment that forms to produce corrugated metal pipe. If output cost standards are not achieved, provide the root causes of mill process inefficiency to the plant manager for corrective action. • Receives instructions and assignments from plant supervision as required. • Records production and keeps work area clean. • Threads the incoming coils through mill processes. • Uses a cutting torch or plasma to remove the strip and start-up pipe from the mill and forming head. • Performs other related work as directed by plant supervision.
