Machine Operator

Will perform grinding of point geometies to steel tubing and or wire as requires by customer and NSP requirements. Willset and adjust machine controls according to product specifications,start and observe machine operation for corformance to specifications, delect buffing or polishing machine tools and position and mount tools to machine tool, chuck or jig using hand tools, read work order to determine parts to be buffed or polished, remove work piece and examine finish to ensure it meets specifications and repair machine parts to maintain machine in operational condition etc.

Machinist (Tool & Die Maker) - 3rd JR - 096063

About the position Responsibilities • Machining parts from blueprints and drawings using shop equipment including lathe milling machines, grinders, and drill press. • Disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling injection molding molds. • Fixing and repairing mechanical devices and equipment. • Designing replacement parts for production machinery. • Fixing and repairing electrical systems. • Installing new equipment and relocating equipment as necessary. • Performing modifications of existing equipment. • Analyzing problems and repairing pneumatic and hydraulic systems. • Performing welding and sheet metal fabrication using arc and gas welder, metal saws, grinders, power shears, and sheet metal break. • Using precision measurement equipment and other shop tools. • Understanding and adhering to environmental health and safety laws. Requirements • High school diploma or GED required. • Tool and die certification from a technical school. • 3 years of general maintenance experience in tool and die making or job shop related experience. • Ability to use hand tools, layout equipment, rotary table, and all precision measuring tools. • Experience with volt meters, drill press, surface grinder, metal lathe, milling machines, furnaces, welding and fabrication equipment, and test equipment. • Familiarity with personal computers and CNC equipment. • Ability to meet visual acuity requirements as detailed in Baxter Cleveland Visual Acuity procedure CL-01-01-037.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Machinist’s Mates (MM) are responsible for operating and maintaining ship propulsion machinery, auxiliary equipment and outside machinery.
