CNC Machine Maintenance Technician

Job Description The Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing troubleshoot, problem solving, preventive maintenance, service, and repair of machine tools. The Technician performs all job functions in a high-quality, efficient, and timely manner. The Technician works as a member of a team and assists other team members as required and makes recommendations to senior management on process improvements to ensure efficient machine operations. OMWs Machine Maintenance Technician needs excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The Machine Maintenance Technician must be a proactive communicator who enjoys being hands-on. The Technician must fully understand machine maintenance requirements and have a sense of responsibility towards our company. The role requires adaptability, flexibility, and an agile mindset to manage competing priorities, support a broad range of machine tools, and keep up with the fast pace of our team as we pursue meeting our customers needs. As a Machine Maintenance Technician your goal is to support the organization in delivering good products on time all while continuing to improve. The Machine Maintenance Technician plays a key role in supporting the sustainable growth and scalability of the organization. Job Responsibilities • Perform troubleshooting and problem-solving of CNC machine tools. • Perform high-quality, efficient, and timely machine/tooling installation, as required. • Perform repair and preventive maintenance, as required. • Ensure high quality levels and standards in all work performed. Follows all safety procedures and requirements. • Trains and instructs internal team members on proper installation, service, and repair procedures for current and new equipment and processes. • Accurately document all actions and findings, and reports parts required to complete service and repairs. • Consults with other team members, internal departments, and external service providers to resolve issues related to machine tool installation, service, and repair. • Continuously reviews current processes and searches for improvement. Recommends modifications and improvements to processes and procedures. • Communicates as needed to internal stakeholders and vendors on installation, service, and repair progress. • Cultivate skills through further education, seminars, internal training, or external resources. • Maintain cleanliness of machine tools and work areas. • Assist, support, and perform other job functions as needed. Job Requirements • Associate degree or certification in the troubleshooting, repair, and installation of CNC Machine Tools. • 2 3 years of related work experience in the troubleshooting, repair, and installation of CNC Machine Tools. • Experience with Matsuura, Okuma, Fanuc, DMG, and/or Makino is a plus. • Strong proficiency in reading and understanding various technical documents such as blueprints, manuals, etc. • A deep technical and practical knowledge of CNC Machine Tools. • An ability to lead projects, help develop strategy, drive cross-functional team accountability, and deliver results. • A passion for continuous improvement and a patience to shepherd ideas from initial requirements through execution. • A willingness to roll up your sleeves and step into unknown situations to understand the current state and most optimal path forward. • Build relationships with cross-functional groups to identify, prioritize, and close any reliability or process gaps. • Experience in providing excellent customer service. • Strong analytical skills. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to manage multiple priorities. • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, etc. • Physical requirements include continuous bending, stooping, standing, climbing, step stool climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, lifting greater than 50 pounds with assistance, pushing, and pulling. Compensation based on experience. You will follow specifications on the job ticket to complete the rolls to the right length, copy position, and core size. You will also be responsible for verifying quality of supplied rolls and reviewing product for defects to ensure the highest quality product for our customers. You may also box product or perform other finishing duties to ensure product is provided to shipping in an accurate and timely manner. Rate of pay: $27.00-$30.00Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Review job work instructions/tickets and set up the rewind machine properly for the job, including blades, cores, and copy position. Operate the rewind machine to break the large press rolls into finished customer rolls. Review labels and rolls for quality and consistency. Perform splices in which two rolls of the same product are taped together. Follow company procedures and requirements for verification of the product ID numbers and visual inspection with supervisor sign off.Verify Core IDs for the finished rolls and place them inside and outside of the roll, following verification by the supervisor that the Core ID is correct.Place finished rolls in the proper box, verifying the core and box IDs match, and place the box in the designated area for either shipping or stock products.Communicate with Shift Supervisor, Production Manager, and/or Scheduler regarding issues with the label, including over or under runs, label quality, or ID number questions.Maintain the work area and rewind machines in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed Fortis policies and safety regulations.Additional duties as required.QualificationsRequirements:Education and Experience:High School diploma or equivalent.At least one year of previous machine operation experience. Printing related production experience preferred.Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Good communication skills. Excellent attention to detail. Motivated by task accomplishment and comfortable doing routine tasks at a high level.
