Overview Duties/Responsibilities - Other duties may be assigned: • Able to handle products of a more complex nature such as already brazed parts requiring in-process machining or final machining. • Set up and operate CNC lathes and Turn Mills. • Use inspection tools to monitor dimensional accuracy. • Monitor tooling and replace when necessary. • Fits, aligns, and adjusts machines or assemblies to meet tolerances and product operating requirements. • Knowledge on operating manual Lathe and Manual Mill • Deburr and polish machined components. Job Skills: • Familiar with CNC lathes with Fanuc control, Mori Seiki, Nakamura, Mazak. B-axis turn mills and/or Lathes with live tooling • Must have strong knowledge of G and M codes • Must be knowledgeable with GD&T. • Strong attention to detail • Strong work ethic and work well with others. • Must be organized and accurate with documentation. Desired Education/Experience: • High school diploma, vocational training or equivalent qualification required. • Knowledge of machining processes and problem-solving skills to ensure strict quality and cosmetic standards • Requires production experience, basic reading, writing and shop math skills. • Minimum of 1-3 years related experience. Physical Requirements: • Ability to lift/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally. The base salary range for this full-time position is 23.51-39.95 hourly. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure, and relevant education or training. Machinist, Central Manufacturing Engineering (Day Shift)

What to Expect Tesla is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Machinist. This role will require the individual to work closely with teams within manufacturing to support tooling and production needs throughout all of Tesla’s Body-in-White production lines. We are looking for candidates who are shift flexible and available to work overtime, based on business needs. What You'll Do • Machine tight tolerance components and assemblies using manual and or CNC machine tools to make or modify parts, weldments, and assemblies applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, layout, and good machining procedures • Operate typical machine shop equipment including but not limited to mills, lathes, drill presses, surface grinders, grinders, sanders, and saws • Work with a wide range of materials from hardened tool steels to plastics (i.e., tool steels, pre-hardened steels, stainless steels, low carbon steels, aluminum, plastics, copper, and brass). General shop responsibilities (i.e., help ensure a safe working environment, equipment maintenance and repair, housekeeping duties, organization of shop materials and supplies) • Understand and use 3D and 2D CAD/CAM software such as CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, FUSION 360 and AUTOCAD to view and or extract components from solid model assemblies to generate toolpaths and detailed drawings • Work with minimal supervision with limited detailed drawings or blueprints, must be able to interpret verbal or written instructions and work independently to complete jobs from set up to final inspection • Work closely with managers, engineers, and technicians to produce a wide variety of components, weldments, and assemblies.
