Job Summary Petersen Precision Engineering is looking for an entry level Machine Operator. In this position you will perform production activities that require the operation of machinery and equipment and understand the production process and the quality goals of the company to help achieve customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is focused and attentive with basic PC knowledge or good with operating machinery, willing to learn, and doesn't mind doing repetitive tasks that are essential to the foundation of the manufacturing process. Responsibilities: · Reads and understands operator work instructions and sample boards which display actual samples. · Run CNC mills or Lathes including changing tool offsets & tool changes in machines. · Operates equipment in accordance with instructions and ensures safe operation of assigned equipment. · Use stereo microscope to inspect small part features. · Maintains and reports production counts. · Maintains a clean and safe work area. Requirements: · Strong attention to detail, good vision (see details of objects up close), good hand-eye coordination. · Ability to understand basic instructions and do basic arithmetic calculations. · Frequent mental and visual concentration is required while waiting on machines to complete cycles, inspection of parts, etc. · Requires constant attention to prevent injury to self and co-workers and damage to equipment. · Requires standing, repeated reaching and twisting, hand movement throughout entire shift. · Professionalism, good work ethic, willingness to learn, quick learner. · Works well with others. · Ability to read/listen carefully to follow instructions and procedures. · Requires lifting and moving materials of up to 30 lbs. · Works in an environment that may be uncomfortable, dusty, and loud. Is regularly exposed to moving metal/mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, solvent, alcohol, and water-based coolant.
