Machine Operator I

Position Description Base pay is influenced by several factors including a candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, and anticipated contributions to meet the needs of the business, along with internal pay equity and external market driven rates. This promise is at the heart of our culture, and it’s why our employees consistently vote us one of the “Best Places to Work in PA.” The Machine Operator I position is responsible for the operation of various processing equipment, as well as responsibility for equipment and job set-up, processing production jobs, quality checking jobs, correcting minor equipment malfunctions, and for advancing needs for vendor service as is appropriate Responsibilities And Qualifications • Print Services • Operate printing equipment and accurately complete work assignments in a timely manner with limited direction, and demonstrate the ability to quality check your work as completed. • Perform finishing work on documents, such as folding, cutting, shrink wrapping, or spiral binding. • Perform preventive maintenance by keeping the equipment clean and operating efficiently, clear jams and minor malfunctions, and maintain an adequate working inventory to meet production schedules. • ** • Mailroom • Operate automated equipment to process mail by priority based on mail date and finalize mailings for United States Postal Service (USPS) acceptance. • Perform finishing work on documents to be mailed, such as folding and insertion of materials using either an automated or manual process. • Input sort schemes to the sorter system to obtain the best possible postage rates allowed. • Follow strict guidelines in order to enforce a HIPAA-compliant operation, ensuring mail is sealed, undamaged and adheres to our quality and safety practices/standards. Skills • Mailroom: Ability to operate a variety of machinery which includes, but is not limited to, automated mail services inserting equipment, bar code sorting equipment, letter openers, and postage meters. Ability to operate a sorting machine and insert machine (Bell & Howell or similar equipment). Ability to run or to learn to use Net Sort sorting software, Intelligent Mail Bar Code (IMB), and Move Comply system. • Print Services: Ability to operate a variety of production printing and finishing equipment which includes, but is not limited to, various models Xerox high speed printers, cutters, folders, drills, shrink wrapper and spiral binding equipment. • Ability to perform preventative maintenance to ensure equipment is clean and operating efficiently with sufficient understanding the operation of mechanical equipment in order to perform minor troubleshooting in the event of equipment malfunctions. • Ability to work effectively as a member of a cohesive team as well as having the ability to work independently with little direct supervision. • Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion. • Must have the ability to operate a personal computer with proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office. • Basic reading and comprehension skills of written documents and instructions. Knowledge • Has familiarity with the operation of various relevant equipment. Experience • Mailroom • Prefer 1 years of experience working in a printing environment or experience in production environment. • Print Services • Prefer 1 year of experience working in a mail room or sorting environment using electronic inserting machine/sorting equipment (preferably Bell & Howell) or experience in production environment. Education And Certifications • High school diploma or equivalent. Work Environment Frequent exposure to loud equipment, moving mechanical parts, and dust that may affect the respiratory system. Assist with special printing requests and is able to be on call after hours and the weekend. Physical Demands Medium work (exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally OR up to 25 pounds of force frequently OR up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects).!!Activities involving stooping, reaching, stretching, bending, lifting, standing to operate machinery for an extended period of time, and working in environment that has machine noise factors and dust. CNC Machinist / Programmer Harrisburg, PA Full-time / Direct - Hire About: We are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer to join a fast-paced precision machine shop specializing in high-mix, low-volume production. The shop manufactures high-tolerance custom components for medical, military, microwave, aerospace, and telecommunications markets. Key Responsibilities: • Program, set up, and operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis vertical mills. • Adjust fixtures and inspect CNC machined parts to meet strict customer specifications. • Communicate job status, part quality, and estimated completion times clearly and promptly. • Assist and train other operators with machine setups and manufacturing best practices. • Apply strong manufacturing, programming, and inspection skills to ensure quality and efficiency.
