Cnc Machinist

Job Title: Machinist Job Description As a machinist, you will set up and operate CNC machines and other equipment within your assigned cell. This role requires expertise in transferring commands from servers to computer numerical control (CNC) modules, using computer network links, and mounting, installing, aligning, and securing tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces on machines. You will also be responsible for stopping machines to remove finished workpieces or to change tooling, setup, or workpiece placement, and measuring dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications. Responsibilities • Set up and operate CNC machines and other equipment in assigned cell. • Transfer commands from servers to CNC modules using computer network links. • Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces on machines. • Stop machines to remove finished workpieces or change tooling, setup, or workpiece placement. • Measure dimensions of finished workpieces using precision measuring instruments. • Listen to machines during operation to detect and adjust for problems. • Monitor control panel displays and compare readings to specifications to detect malfunctions. • Conduct preventive maintenance and ensure proper usage of machinery, tools, and components. Essential Skills • Experience with CNC machining and lathe operations. • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. • Basic measuring, math, reading, and writing skills. • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. • Mechanical aptitude and computer literacy. • Ability to conduct tests and inspections of products or processes to evaluate quality or performance. • High school diploma or GED required. • 6 to 9 months on-the-job training or related vocational training program required. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control). • Ability to identify complex problems and develop solutions. • Understanding of the English language including composition and grammar. Work Environment Work in a setting that requires regular exposure to noise and dust, with necessary protective equipment provided. The role involves working in a booth surrounded by three walls, which may vary in size depending on equipment and materials used. Shifts available include 3rd shift (Sun-Weds 8pm-6am) and 1st shift (Mon-Thurs 6am-4pm), with overtime opportunities. Hearing protection and fresh-air helmets are required, with medical clearance necessary for specific tasks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.66 - $26.41/hr. CNC Machinists

Salary: $24-30/hour We have openings for vertical and horizontal mills and lathes with various machining companies in the Chambersburg, Mercersburg, and Greencastle PA areas. Looking for machinists that are: • Proficent with Mazak, Haas, or Mori-Seiki CNC machines using Fanuc and/or Mitsubishi controls. • Versed in G&M code. • Experience with 4/5 axis machining. • Ability to take measurements with micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and other various tools of metrology as well as visual scopes/comparators • CMM operation and programming experience a plus. • Ability to read blueprints and an understanding of geometric tolerancing is necessary. • Ability to setup production jobs with existing programs to run unmanned. • Mastercam experience would be great • Able to demonstrate a solid grasp of geometry/trigonometry. • Just need people who are going to be reliable.
