Overview: We’re seeking skilled and motivated Machinists of all experience levels to join our team. Candidates will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of manual machine tools while ensuring safety, precision, and quality in all machining operations. Qualifications: • High school diploma, trade school, or equivalent experience • Strong oral and written communication skills • Legible handwriting and attention to detail • Ability to work overtime as needed • Previous hands-on machinist experience required Training: Comprehensive training provided for 6 months to 1 year on daylight hours (based on workload). Key Responsibilities: All Levels (C-Level): • Operate a variety of non-automatic machine tools • Apply knowledge of mechanics, metals, and machining procedures • Read blueprints, sketches, and specifications • Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, gages, indicators, etc.) • Operate related shop equipment (band saws, presses, drill presses) • Perform basic welding operations B-Level: • Set up and operate milling machines (flat, form, slot, and angle milling) • Determine speeds, feeds, and tooling for operations A-Level: • Set up and operate engine lathes • Grind and sharpen drill bits • Machine parts to tight tolerances (within .0002”) • Drill/tap holes, machine gear fits, and grind rubber rollers Senior Level (Foreman): • Full knowledge of gear machines and setups • Plan machining operations and blank sizes • Cut and chase inside/outside and acme threads (both left/right) • Supervise machinists and ensure production quality Equipment Used: • Lathes, mills, grinders, welders (MIG/TIG/stick), forklifts, overhead cranes, hand tools, and cutting torches Physical Requirements: • Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting (5–25 lbs), reaching, and manual dexterity • Ability to hear, see, and differentiate small parts and measurements • Must be comfortable working in varied indoor/outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, noise, and around machinery and oils Work Environment: Combination of indoor and outdoor work; exposure to noise, moving machinery, and industrial conditions work environment. Minimum Qualifications • Ability to learn and understand basic machine operation. • Ability to focus and pay close attention to detail while managing and prioritizing multiple tasks. • Ability to use or learn to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures. • Ability to learn process for determining and regulating speed and feed rates of machines. • Ability to work and communicate within a team setting. • Ability to recognize defects, out-of-tolerance measurements and escalating those matters to management. • Ability to document measurements and other criteria legibly when required. • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Preferred Qualifications • One to three years’ work experience. • Experience working in a production environment using heavy industrial equipment and/or machinery.
