Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This position is responsible for the setup, programming, and operation of CNC equipment, manual lathes, and Bridgeport mills to fabricate high-precision molding tools and related components. Duties include interpreting complex blueprints and CAD models, selecting and setting up appropriate tooling and workholding, machining parts to tight tolerances, and performing in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments. The role requires troubleshooting machining processes, maintaining equipment performance, and ensuring that all tooling meets engineering specifications and production deadlines. Responsibilities • Operate CNC lathes and milling machines to produce high-quality parts according to blueprints and specifications. • Perform CNC programming, including CAM programming, to optimize machining processes. • Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges, to ensure accuracy in production. • Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints using GD&T principles. • Maintain tooling and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition for optimal performance. • Collaborate with team members in assembly processes and lean manufacturing initiatives to enhance productivity. • Employ basic math skills for calculations related to machining operations and measurements. • Utilize hand tools and power tools safely in the manufacturing environment. • Participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on enhancing manufacturing efficiency and quality. Skills • Proficient in CNC operation with experience in CNC lathe and CNC milling machine setups, with at least two years of experience. • Strong mechanical knowledge with a solid understanding of machining principles and practices. • Familiarity with SolidWorks, CAD software, and tooling design is advantageous. • Experience with plastics injection molding processes is a plus. • Ability to work effectively with precision measuring instruments for quality assurance. • Knowledge of welding techniques is beneficial for certain projects. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
