CNC Machine Operator

Our client, in Rutland VT is seeking a CNC machinist to join their team.This key position requires the efficient and safe operation of multiple CNC machines. Also requires excellent math skills, mechanical skill, and ability to read and follow customer specifications. CNC operator level III performs limited set-ups and requires some supervision. Job Title: CNC Machinist III Location: Rutland VT Pay Range: 17.75-19.78 an hour What's the Job? RESPONSIBILITIES: • Follow safety rules, procedures, guidelines, and training given. Recognize and report hazards to designated individual(s). Actively participate in safety program. Practice safe work habits and report accidents/injuries immediately. • Flexibility in job assignments and adaptability to changing business needs • Continually learn and apply new skills. • Use vacuum lift and/or manually load CNC machines with plywood sheet stock. Unload, stack, and clean when cycle is complete. Re-set for new cycle. • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area • Interface with manufacturing personnel, across departments and shifts on material status and production assembly issues. • Confer with shift supervisor to coordinate and organize materials. • Communicate well and get along with team members, actively listen, ask questions to understand, provide encouragement. • Collaboratively support a cooperative and positive team environment. • Maintain excellent attendance, with overtime required as business needs dictate. • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned and fill in at other areas, or buildings, as needed. Education / Experience: • Prior machine operation/manufacturing experience required with CNC operation preferred. • General knowledge of small hand tools. Rutland Advanced Machinist/Toolmaker Apprentice

About the position GE Aerospace will be hiring for the Advanced Machinist/Toolmaker Apprentice Program in Rutland, VT. The program is a three-year curriculum consisting of rotational manufacturing assignments and classroom training. You will work in a fast-paced work environment supporting jet engine fan and compressor airfoils production. Program students are required to attend classes 3-4 nights a week throughout the 3-year program. All tuition for classes will be paid for by GE Aerospace. Past program graduates have gone on to significant roles in technical & leadership assignments. Program graduates will earn a certificate of completion and college credits from Vermont State University that can be applied towards an Associate Degree in Applied Science.
