Machinist – 1st Shift Location: Worcester, MA Shift: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM | Monday – Friday About the Role We are seeking an experienced Machinist to join our team. In this role, you will set up and operate manual and CNC machines to produce high-quality parts. This position requires strong machining knowledge, blueprint reading, and hands-on experience with a variety of equipment. Key Responsibilities • Set up and operate manual and CNC machines (lathes, mills, grinders, saws, etc.) • Perform machining operations including grinding, cutting, and assembly of parts • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders • Select cutting tools, feeds, and speeds based on materials and machining requirements • Make machine adjustments and perform quality checks using precision measuring tools • Ensure parts meet specifications and tolerances Qualifications • Previous machining experience required (manual and/or CNC) • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings • Experience with machine setup and programming (preferred) • Strong knowledge of machining materials (metals, alloys, composites, etc.) • Skilled in using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measurement tools

Job Title: Swiss CNC Set-up Machinist Duties include but are not limited to the following: • Determine appropriate tooling, setup, and fixtures necessary to efficiently run jobs • Change/set tools, collets, tool holders, as required by program • Identify and correct worn tooling, subpar finishes, excessive burrs • Determine/set all tooling offsets • Produce quality parts within production rates • Adjusts speeds and feeds • Assists others with any issues on CNCs • Trains operators on set-up, operation, and minor repairs • Adheres to ISO9001/AS9100 standards • Review production process for improvements • Troubleshoot and repair machines, when possible • Keep logs of down-time, maintenance performed, and repairs • Read work orders/bill of materials to determine product specifications • Responsible for quantity and quality to meet efficiency rates • Use various types of equipment and machinery • Maintain machinery during operation/direct scheduled maintenance • Inspect products to ensure product excellence and quality using measuring tools (calipers/micrometer) • Store or place product in designated areas • Complete all necessary data to ensure production rates are met • Report and/or enter production data into the company ERP system • Ensure and observe all safety and housekeeping rules and guidelines, including carrying out daily safety inspections • Participate in all assigned training, including health and safety sessions • Other duties as assigned Position Requirements: • Previous Swiss machine experience; minimum 3 years operator and 1 year ability to perform machine set-up. • Ability to read blueprints • Advanced understanding of G Code programs • Advanced understanding of Geometry • Strong mechanical aptitude • Excellent problem solving skills • High school graduate or equivalent, technical training on machining preferred • Ability to communicate – verbal and written • Ability to perform basic math functions with accuracy • Basic computer skills for data entry purposes. • Experience of ERP system (preferred) • Manufacturing experience (preferred) • Dependable and prompt • Efficient work habits Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: • Ability to lift 20-50 lbs. frequently • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. occasionally • Continuous standing • Use of hands and feet to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, controls, press buttons, levers and pedals • Bending, twisting and reaching • Occasional repetitive movement • Frequent walking • Wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, ear protection, safety shoes, gloves and any other protective equipment deemed necessary. • Work indoors in non-controlled environmental conditions • Exposure to sounds and noise levels that can be distracting or uncomfortable • Exposure to minor cuts or burns • Exposure to contaminants • Exposure to hazardous equipment • Work with others in a group or team • Works safely around manufacturing equipment Schedule: • Mon-Fri 7 am – 3:30 pm • 8-hour shift • Possibility of overtime when required • In person - Pomfret, CT Benefits: • Health, Dental and Vision insurance options • Life insurance • 401(k) with company match • Paid time off • Employee assistance program • Employee Referral program • Tuition reimbursement Shift: 8-hour shift Work Location: In person, Company does not provide relocation assistance. Precision Castparts Corporation (PCP). CNC Machinist Job Summary: Set-up and operate computer numerical controlled and manual turning machines and electronic gauging equipment. Machine a variety of forgings and dies to close tolerances. Set up and operate all other machining equipment as required. Working Procedure: 1. Obtain job assignments, CNC Programs, tapes, blueprints, process sheets and lab release, if required, from supervisor. 2. Interpret blueprints or sketches, CNC program printouts and process sheets to determine and set-up machining as required. 3. Set-up work in machine, using hoist or hand controlled overhead crane. May require assistance on heavier pieces. 4. Measure and mark area to be machined. 5. Set controls to operate at proper feed, speed and depth of cut. Also, load tapes and set. Use coolants as required. 6. Use precision measuring instruments such as electronic gauging equipment (numeriprobes), protractors, squares, verniers, gauge blocks, dial bore gauges, depth gauges, profiloneters and vidi-gauges in setting-up and machining work to required tolerances. 7. Check and record dimensional data against process sheets, blueprints or sketches or with templates, to insure that work is done to required specifications. 8. Stamp and record heat code, serial numbers or other required numbers that have been removed in the machining process. 9. May operate for lift truck or other material handling equipment to move dies, forgings, pallets, boxes and other items as required. 10. Edit computer memory as authorized to change machining process. 11. Do statistical process control (SPC) on machined parts and enter data into SPC computer and/or computer Network. EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS: · Requires use of job knowledge acquired over a two year period to set up and operate all Machine Shop production machines. · Trade school or work equivalent · Must read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and process sheets. · Uses wide variety of precision measuring instruments. · Must have knowledge of shop mathematics. · Set up and operate tracing equipment. · Be familiar with general numerical control theory and how system operates. SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: · May have to work in awkward, twisted positions. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly US Citizenship or Perm Residency is required due to government military contracts.
