This position is on 2nd Shift. Machines we operate: Mills: Kitamura, Mikron, Haas and Matsuura mills. 3-axis vertical, 4-axis horizontal, and 5-axis machines, many with multiple work pallets Lathes: Mori Seiki, Haas, Omni and Hardinge two axis lathes. EDM: Sodick and Mitsubishi wire EDM and EDM hole drills Manual Machines: Bridgeport style mills, engine lathes, and surface grinders ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Read and interpret process plans, blueprints, and part sketches to determine necessary machining, dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirements. • Ability to edit pre-written programs. • Ability to edit and troubleshoot programs for process improvements. • Observe numerical control displays on the control panel and compare with the data on the process plan to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and speeds of machining cuts. • Inspects first run pieces and spot checks succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications using operation certification knowledge. • Utilizes various types of inspection instruments to check work per print. • Completes necessary job-related paperwork to include tags, inspection documents, and production log. • Perform basic equipment maintenance: proper coolant levels, filters, fan operation, cleans machine, etc. • Use manual machines as needed to make workholding fixtures and other small quantity parts. • Ability to operate multiple machines simultaneously.
