Casting Machine Operator

Advanced Bearing Materials, LLC, is a manufacturer of high performance bearing materials, with a material casting operation in Greensburg, Indiana. Cast Line Machine Operator Performs a variety of tasks on multiple operating lines, such as the Cast line, Slitter, and Finish Mill in keeping with production and metallurgical control practices. This includes all set up and operations, including on quenches, welders, coilers, pay offs, furnaces, and any operating aspect of the line. Works with supervisor and other employees in anticipating line requirements, tools, and various equipment repairs. Verifies quality of product being produced in relation to quality and customer standards. Alters operation within casting practice to correct problems. Follows all plant policies and Safety practices, and maintains good housekeeping. Operates material handling equipment, such as forklift and overhead crane. Secures product to skid for proper transport. Completes all required documentation for each operating area. Skills Summary Requires the ability to read, write, use mathematics, interpret blueprints and train others. Must have a basic knowledge of all aspects of the operating lines. Makes decisions in detailing and performing operations based on generally established production and metallurgical control procedures. Position requires frequent to continuous physical effort handling medium weight materials, exposure to high heat, lead, and chemicals. Also requires fairly continuous application of thought and visual attention in performing casting operations. Environmental and Safety Requirements Perform all duties in compliance with OSHA requirements. Perform all duties in compliance with all local safety and environmental requirements. Perform all duties in a method that does not lead to environmental contamination – contain spills, proper disposal of waste streams, and reduction of waste when possible.
