Machinist

Responsible for setting up and operating saws, milling machines, NC machining centers and coordinating measuring machines (CMMs) as required. Required Education/Experience Graduate of any recognized machinist or tool maker course (e.g., tech school, industrial or Armed Forces program), OR Minimum of one year experience in set up and operation of Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) multi-access machining All candidates must successfully pass a written machinist assessment. This course is designed to introduce students to the more advanced CNC machining, tooling, and use. Student will develop an understanding of programming concepts and codes as they relate to CNC lathes and mills. Discussion topics will include Advanced Computer Numeric Control Programming and Geometrics Dimensioning and Tolerances.
