CNC Machinist - Lathe

This position is a day-shift position, Monday-Friday, from 6:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Competitive hourly pay, overtime available, plus quarterly bonus opportunities! Responsibilities • Check CNC machinery is in good working order before set up • Set up machinery to successfully conduct the run as specified • Refers to drawings, sketches, manuals, books, charts, military specifications and process sheets. • Ensures specification conformance of product, process and workmanship and documents findings on personal computers and/or other data acquisition devices as required. • Conduct all programming as required • Monitor the run throughout the cycle, checking that specifications are met • Perform all necessary machine maintenance • Follow safety standards at all times • Report any safety or maintenance concerns to management immediately • Keep all work areas clean and organized Technical Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent • 3+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role • Must be capable of working with tools range from various sizes and types of horizontal and vertical boring mills, boring bars, clamps, fixtures, angle plates, CNC equipment perishable tooling, chucks, dies, grinders, sanders and various hand tools (i.e. wrenches, pliers, etc.), measuring and test equipment (i.e. Versa and height gauges), personal computer and/or other data acquisition devices (i.e. bar-coding and datamyte). • Able to read and follow technical drawings and diagrammed instructions • Must be able to lift 50 pounds or greater • Must be able to stand, sit, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time Soft Skills • Must be able to pass background check, drug screening and physical examination. Machine Operator- 1st Shift

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Machine Operator starts, troubleshoots, and operates manufacturing equipment safely. There are three Machine Operator levels (I, II, & III). The level will be determined by experience, ability to assume various roles on the plant floor, and demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and problem-solve machine issues resulting in efficient cycles and minimal downtime. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Perform work in a safe manner by following all written and verbally communicated safety rules and procedures. • Follow standard work procedures to operate and maintain assigned machine(s). • Routinely meet or exceed production output rates per standards. • Ensure product meets certain tolerances and specifications. • Perform routine inspections per quality standards. • Understand production instructions. • Maintain accurate paperwork. • Package, label, and store products. • Cross-train on other production functions as business need dictates. • Clean and maintain assigned area to ensure proper functionality. • Report and assist with resolving safety, quality, and mechanical issues. • Participate in the continuous improvement process. • If appropriate, set up and operate various off-line and secondary equipment. EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: • No formal educational requirement. • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: • No prior work experience or training required. • Previous experience operating a machine in a manufacturing environment requiring speed and dexterity is preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: • Forklift License certified. OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS: • Ability to function effectively in a team setting. • Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail. • Demonstrates reliability, flexibility, and dependability. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Incumbent must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, kneel, talk, hear, and lift up to 50 lbs.
