Medical Record Specialist Job Description Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Record Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: • Perform chart management tasks in the Health Information Management (HIM) Department. • Document retrieval from patient care areas, prep/scan/index legal medical record documents into the electronic medical record (EMR). • Ready requested health information for release, and engage department visitors or callers by assisting them with their requests. • Assist with other projects and reports as needed. • Maintain strict physician and patient confidentiality. Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Education and Experience: • High school graduate or equivalent experience required. • Minimum one year of previous healthcare experience preferred. • Must be proficient with hospital HIM computer systems. • Knowledge of MS Office.
