Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Technician

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair. This role requires a thorough understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to troubleshoot various HVAC-related issues. The technician will work on residential and commercial properties, ensuring optimal performance of heating and cooling systems. Duties • Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment. • Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to understand system layouts. • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems. • Troubleshoot issues related to heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration. • Perform equipment repairs using tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment. • Collaborate with property maintenance teams to ensure efficient operation of HVAC systems. • Provide excellent customer service while interacting with clients on-site. • Maintain accurate records of service performed and parts used. Skills • Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in HVAC/R systems. • Proficiency in construction techniques related to HVAC installation. • Service technician experience with a focus on field service operations. • Familiarity with plumbing systems as they relate to HVAC installations. • Understanding of HVAC design principles and ammonia refrigeration systems. • Experience with appliance repair and general equipment repair tasks. • Ability to perform maintenance tasks efficiently in various environments. • Valid driver's license is required for travel between job sites. • Welding skills are a plus for performing necessary repairs. Job Summary Responsible for HVAC and mechanical building systems, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, control systems, pipe fitting, and structural layouts. Performs preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as needed or requested by customers. Responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects and ensuring customer satisfaction. Skills and Experience Five to seven years commercial/industrial HVAC experience Essential Functions and Duties (including but not limited to) • Uses a variety of hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units. • Identifies, analyzes, and repairs equipment, instruments and products at the customer’s location(s). • Seek out and submit Work Change Authorizations based on customer need. • Maintains company vehicle by keeping records of service manuals, schedules with warehouse manager required maintenance and repairs. • Turns in all required paperwork and reports in a timely manner. • Ability to use provided software applications to document customer calls, labor and work performed. Education • Associates Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning; or equivalent experience. • EPA approved Universal Technician Certification
