HVAC Technician

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician 2 or 3 to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair. This role requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot various heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The HVAC Technician will work on residential and commercial properties, ensuring optimal performance of HVAC equipment. Duties • Install, troubleshoot, maintain, repair: residential, commercial, geothermal, and industrial heating and cooling systems for all OBU property. • Manage workload and prioritize HVAC service requests. • Ensure service request documentation is done and filled out completely in a timely manner. • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with HVAC equipment using schematics and technical manuals. • Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure efficiency and compliance with safety standards. • Conduct field service visits to assess customer needs and provide solutions for HVAC-related issues. • Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters. • Collaborate with other trades such as plumbing and electrical to ensure comprehensive service delivery. • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used for each job. • Adhere to all safety protocols while working on-site at various locations. Required Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED required. • This person will be required to attend seminars and classes as deemed necessary by their supervisor. • Basic skills in HVAC maintenance and repair. • Basic knowledge of how to safely use hand tools. • Effectively and professionally communicate with co-workers, students, faculty, and administration. • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel and grasp for extended periods of time. • Safely lift 80 lbs. • Climb ladders, scaffold, and work on elevated surfaces. • Ability to correctly identify primary voltage colors. • Work extended periods of time in a non-environmentally controlled setting indoor and/or outdoor. • Must possess and maintain a valid Oklahoma driver’s license. • This position is designated as a safety sensitive position and employment is contingent upon results of a drug test based on OBU’s Drug-Testing Policy. • This person will be required to work overtime, and/or adjust their schedule as needed when it is deemed necessary by their supervisor. This person must be willing to be subject to call at any time, day, or night. • This person may also be required to work after hours (nights or weekends) and when emergencies arise. Preferred Qualifications: • Completion of two years of HVAC trade school. • 4 years experience in maintenance of HVAC equipment.
