Job Opportunity: We are seeking a skilled HVAC/R Technician to join our team in support of base operations at Vance AFB. Located in Enid, Oklahoma. Responsibilities: • Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and install HVAC/R equipment and associated control systems. • Perform regular preventive maintenance on HVAC/R equipment. • Troubleshoot and repair building automation and control systems. • Balance air and water in HVAC systems. • Assist with performing water treatment for closed-loop heating and cooling systems. • Test joints and insulate pipes of HVAC/R systems. • Perform soldering/brazing, and use shop equipment/test equipment for maintenance and troubleshooting procedures. Requirements: • Completion of a State of Oklahoma approved apprentice program (technical or trade school) or equivalent. • Minimum of a State of Oklahoma Journeyman license and universal refrigerant handling certification. • Minimum of 5 years' experience servicing HVAC/R equipment and control systems in the commercial and/or industrial field. • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident due to contract requirements. • Must be 18 years of age or older. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:With moderate supervision provide maintenance support to ensure the safe and effective operation of ammonia refrigeration systems, HCFC systems, hot water, compressed air, and steam systems. Responsibilities include proactive maintenance and refrigeration repairs, performing emergency mechanical or electrical repairs, and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic plant equipment. Must be able to safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned production equipment and the ability to effectively interact with all plant personnel to accomplish plant and individual goals. This position is exposed to noise levels that require hearing protection. Candidates should be able to read and interpret blue prints, repair air compressors and evaluate pneumatic systems inspection procedures. Understanding boiler theory and the basic eleven IIAR Basic NH3 Refrigeration schematics will be required for this role. Must be able to pass a HAZ-Mat physical and pass the training to be certified as an Emergency Responder Technician Level and participate on the Emergency Response Team. Also responsible for minimizing downtime due to equipment and system failure. Requirements:Education: 1 year of industrial maintenance experience education preferred (I.E. possess industrial maintenance diploma or currently enrolled in technical school) in lieu of experienceExperience: 1( ) years of industrial ammonia refrigeration experience or equivalent experience requiredComputer Skills: Basic computer skills will be necessary to log information, to process daily work orders and to complete required documentation.
