Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems, refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical maintenance. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of HVAC equipment across commercial and industrial settings. Duties • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment such as ammonia refrigeration systems. • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents to accurately diagnose issues and plan repairs. • Perform plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems and ensure proper operation of refrigeration components. • Conduct equipment repair using tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment; perform mechanical maintenance on various HVAC components. • Service field equipment including appliances and property maintenance systems to ensure safety and efficiency. • Maintain detailed records of service activities, repairs performed, and parts used. • Use diagnostic tools to identify electrical or mechanical faults in HVAC/R systems; perform troubleshooting based on schematics and technical manuals. • Assist with system upgrades or new installations in compliance with safety standards and building codes. • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards. Qualifications • Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC/R or related fields such as construction or property maintenance. • Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in equipment repair, boiler operation, welding, and appliance repair. • Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, ammonia refrigeration systems, and refrigerant handling. • Knowledge of plumbing systems related to HVAC applications; experience with air conditioning units is essential. • Ability to operate diagnostic tools including ohmmeters; experience working with refrigeration systems is preferred. • Prior field service experience is highly desirable; experience with property maintenance or appliance repair is a plus. • Mechanical aptitude combined with the ability to read technical diagrams accurately. • Valid driver’s license required for field service work involving travel between sites. This work is often done independently. As such, Technicians must be able to safely: • Get themselves and necessary tools/equipment onto the rooftop - typically via fixed/extension ladder. • Work at heights • Load and unload tools/equipment from work van • Lifting occasionally up to 75lbs. • Lifting to shoulder and overhead occasionally up to 25 lbs. • Push/pull wheeled cart up to 150 lbs. • Climb ladder up to roof height. • Extend reach overhead in a repetitive motion. • Manual tandem lifting load up to 125 lbs What We Offer Compensation: This is an hourly non-exempt role. The salary range for this role and market is between $33,000 - $41,000 annually. Factors that may affect the starting salary include geography/market and the individual's tenure, performance, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.Employees in this role are not eligible for a bonus but do earn overtime when they work more than 40 hours in a week (or as otherwise required by state law).
