The HVAC-R Mechanic troubleshoots, repairs, and performs Preventive Maintenance on a wide variety of Air Conditioning systems, Ice Makers, Refrigerators, and Freezers, utilizing specialized test equipment and hand/power tools. Job Duties • Troubleshoots and repairs air condition and refrigeration equipment, electrical and pneumatic controls as related to HVAC systems. • Performs preventive maintenance and documentation of maintenance measures and logs • Makes repairs to air handling equipment, i.e., replaces bearings, belts, pulleys, and air filters. Services and maintains rooftop units, split DX systems, and Liebert air conditioning units. • Uses refrigerant recovery equipment when servicing refrigerant based systems. • In the event of severe weather emergencies or disaster, personnel will be assigned a work area and remain onsite throughout the duration of the severe weather or disaster. • Performs other related duties as assigned.
