Duties • Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems on marine vessels, including air conditioning, refrigeration, and ammonia refrigeration units • Must have experience with galvanized duct & HVAC installs • Reading blueprints a plus • Install of rectangular duct and spiro duct work on marine construction jobs. • Read and interpret schematics, HVAC design plans, and technical manuals to ensure precise installation and maintenance • Perform plumbing and mechanical work related to HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards • Conduct equipment repair and maintenance tasks using appropriate tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment • Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems on vessels and dock facilities • Operate specialized tools and machinery for system installation and repair, including boiler and appliance repair equipment • Ensure all work meets industry standards for safety, quality, and efficiency • Maintain detailed records of service activities and system performance Experience • Proven experience as a service technician or installer within the HVAC/R industry, preferably with marine applications • Experience with install of galvanized duct, rectangular and round spiro duct. • HVAC Install • Reading production drawings & general HVAC drawings • Strong background in construction, plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical systems • Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, and equipment repair techniques • Experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems is highly desirable • Mechanical knowledge of boilers, appliances, air conditioning units, and property maintenance is preferred • Field service experience involving HVAC/R systems on vessels or similar environments is a plus • Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters; welding skills are advantageous • Prior experience with appliance repair, maintenance tasks, or mechanic roles will be considered beneficial This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic maritime environment requiring technical expertise and hands-on skills.
