HVAC Mechanic Apprentice (un)

How you will do it • Apprentices will be trained and will perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites. • Apprentices will participate in certified training through Service Technical Academy that will build skill sets to provide continued opportunities for recognition, monetary rewards and advancement. • Through coaching and mentorship, apprentices will develop skills to troubleshoot and resolve both technical issues as well as customer needs. • You will keep JCI, contractors, and the customer advised of job progress and issues as needed. • You will meet attendance requirements for required Union training for first year. • Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities. • Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions. What we look for • Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO. • 1+ years of industry experience or experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry. • Generally required knowledge includes mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques • Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner. • Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical mechanical HVAC equipment on a job site • Self-starter with ability to eventually work independently. • Prioritize safety in all forms. • This position requires a valid driver’s license. Preferred • 1-2 years of trade school or college in a technical emphasis. • This is a Bargaining Unit Position.

Overview: Assemble, install, or repair HVAC equipment per specifications and manufacturer’s recommendations. Overview: The primary purpose of the HVAC Technician is to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and install HVAC and mechanical components/equipment. Perform Service projects/small jobs from beginning to completion and ensure total customer satisfaction throughout.
