Responsibilities • Provides service to the customer base by repairing and overhauling equipment, such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, and electrical and mechanical control devices in a safe, efficient, and timely manner that exceeds customers’ expectations • Provides general repair work on refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment, such as air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machine equipment, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors, and electric motors in a safe and timely manner. • Provides preventative maintenance activities for customers by diagnosing equipment malfunction and any operating deficiency of the mechanical equipment to ensure quality work performance for the customer base. • Test malfunctioning systems and components using electrical and/or mechanical skills. • Maintain legible corporate and personal records of work history. • Provides department support by processing job tickets, and work orders to the necessary department promptly. • Provide support by picking up, delivering, and installing cases. • Perform work on minor construction and remodeling projects including startups of new installations. • Drives company vehicle in a safe manner. • Performs other related duties and projects as assigned by management. Qualifications • 3-4 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration, HVAC, ice machines, gas furnace and electrical required. • High school diploma/GED. • EPA certification. • Certification from an accredited vocational-technical or trade school is a plus! • Experience working on refrigeration equipment in convenience stores or supermarkets is a strong plus. • Familiarity with single systems and rack systems along with previous work on display cases and walk-in boxes is very helpful. • Must have a good driving record and be able to work independently. • Emergency on-call availability is a basic requirement. • Must be able to lift to 60 lbs. with no assistance and also be able to sit and/or stand for several hours at a time. How do we do that? • We take pictures of all installs before going • We make notes on those pictures of any pertinent information • We perform a walkthrough on the majority of installs before you get there. • We then make a complete material list needed at the WT • A permit is pulled • All equipment ordered • All material/trim ordered • Equipment and material is received, checked, and allocated • There is a list of that material attached to the job How your day goes... • Start your day at 7:00am, Punch in. You will be making your full wage for the entire day including travel time. • Meet with your manager to go over any housekeeping items you want to talk about or need to know • While you are doing this your helper/partner(s) will be cleaning and loading your truck • Look over the job with our field supervisor while your fully stocked box truck is loaded • Head to the job (you're getting paid for this, full rate) • Perform your install • Wrap up the job by doing the start-up, perform job site checklist entering job info into and pics in the tablet. • Drive back to shop (full rate) • Empty your truck and discard daily waste • Look over tomorrow's job and pictures (you can see your installs for the next 2 weeks ) • Punch out and go home. This includes Rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, plumbing. • Mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators, etc. of pumps, fans, Compressors. • Able to use vibration equipment to trouble shoot drivelines. • Travel maybe required 10% to 20% to support Branch Customers activities, trouble shooting, installation and repair. • You will be required to pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies. • Opportunity to invest in career development.
