How will you do it We are looking for skilled HVAC Mechanics who have practical work experience in their trade, (HVAC piping, plumbing, pipefitting and /or mechanical equipment service industry). Mechanics must have practical working experience in light commercial or commercial mechanical equipment. May be required to satisfactorily pass an examination to identify special skills. Scope of work shall be limited to commercial HVACR service. Servicemen may partner with Journeymen in the repair of centrifugal, steam turbines, and open-drive screw chillers. Perform maintenance, repair and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems. We provide factory certification through our Service Technical Academy (STA) with recognition, monetary rewards, and advancement. We offer incentive programs and a #1 focus on employee safety. We also provide tools, uniforms, and a company vehicle to perform your job and service our customers to the highest standard. Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve facility inefficiencies and resolve service-related items. As a trusted advisor to our customers, you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of commissioning and aftermarket service. Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities. Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions. What we look for Required • Be a dedicated member of a North America Branch team willing to learn and be responsible for system trouble shooting, repair and aftermarket services for this fast-growing business. • Must be a member or willing to join a local Union. • Minimum of Three (3) years Commercial and/or industrial, mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry. This includes Rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, plumbing. • Mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators, etc. of pumps, fans, Compressors. • Able to use vibration equipment to trouble shoot drivelines. • Travel maybe required 10% to 20% to support Branch Customers activities, trouble shooting, installation and repair. • You will be required to pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies. • Opportunity to invest in career development. Responsibilities • Provides service to the customer base by repairing and overhauling equipment, such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, and electrical and mechanical control devices in a safe, efficient, and timely manner that exceeds customers’ expectations • Provides general repair work on refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment, such as air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machine equipment, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors, and electric motors in a safe and timely manner. • Provides preventative maintenance activities for customers by diagnosing equipment malfunction and any operating deficiency of the mechanical equipment to ensure quality work performance for the customer base. • Test malfunctioning systems and components using electrical and/or mechanical skills. • Maintain legible corporate and personal records of work history. • Provides department support by processing job tickets, and work orders to the necessary department promptly. • Provide support by picking up, delivering, and installing cases. • Perform work on minor construction and remodeling projects including startups of new installations. • Drives company vehicle in a safe manner. • Performs other related duties and projects as assigned by management. Qualifications • 3-4 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration, HVAC, ice machines, gas furnace and electrical required. • High school diploma/GED. • EPA certification. • Certification from an accredited vocational-technical or trade school is a plus! • Experience working on refrigeration equipment in convenience stores or supermarkets is a strong plus. • Familiarity with single systems and rack systems along with previous work on display cases and walk-in boxes is very helpful. • Must have a good driving record and be able to work independently. • Emergency on-call availability is a basic requirement. • Must be able to lift to 60 lbs. with no assistance and also be able to sit and/or stand for several hours at a time.
