· Semi Equivalent Industry Position/Title: HVAC Service Technician · Reports to: Assigned Regional Service Supervisor · Department: Service Position Summary: The Field Technician will be the company’s expert on the job site. This role involves starting up, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on our world-class dehumidification equipment for pool spaces. The technician will represent our brand and uphold the highest standards to ensure complete customer satisfaction while adhering to the company’s values. 1. Primary Responsibilities and Duties: Technical Duties: · Validate and update the end-user contact information on file upon arrival at the job site. · Conduct on-site equipment startup, repair work, and preventative maintenance as needed. · Inspect the equipment and make any necessary minor adjustments. · Repair or replace worn or defective parts. · Perform recommended maintenance actions to improve system performance. · Conduct performance tests using specialized tools and adjust system settings accordingly. · Complete the reporting forms as required, including operational and site data, as well as required photographs. · Provide training to on-site maintenance personnel as requested by the owner. · Prepare the reports and related documents for uploading to FieldPoint and forward them to our external sales representative. · Communicate effectively with clients and customers. · Seek support from the Service Managers for technical advice and assistance in resolving challenges on the job site if needed. Non-technical Duties: · Must demonstrate and follow our company approach with our customers (Fanatical focus on the customer, Front line obsession, ‘See it, Act on it, Own it’) in all duties. · Demonstrate a professional attitude while keeping the company's interests in mind. · Document risks and issues proactively from jobsite and expedite resolution to mitigate warranty and repair work either independently or by coordinating with the Service Manager. · Establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders on the job site (end user, engineers, installing contractors, etc.). · Deliver all required company reporting according to the assigned activity including expense reports. · Attend periodic administrative and various office applications training remotely as required. · Participate in review meetings and provide feedback from the field for continuous improvement. · Stay actively engaged during regular working hours while working from home by assisting other team members or customers remotely. 2. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: · A comprehensive knowledge of commercial HVAC, energy recovery, and heat transfer product industries, along with an understanding of psychrometric fundamentals is needed. · A fundamental understanding of electrical and control systems, along with the ability to read wiring diagrams, is crucial. · Proficiency in using essential hand tools is necessary. · A willingness to travel for overnight trips from Monday through Friday regularly is a must. · The ability to accept assignments with little notice (1-2 weeks) and perform under strict deadlines is important. · A desire and willingness to learn and develop new skills, processes, and concepts for career advancement within the company are expected. · The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously without feeling overwhelmed is key. · Creativity in developing innovative solutions to challenges and presenting feasible alternatives when faced with obstacles is valued. · Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, internet use, and any ERP programs, is necessary. · Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal for presenting to senior leadership is required. · Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, both locally and remotely, is essential. 3. Education And Experience Qualifications: · Min. 2 yrs. of HVAC and Control Systems experience OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. · 1-2 years of related design, production, or service experience will be advantageous, but not necessary. · Must have a valid Air Conditioning & Refrigerant section 608 recovery certificate/license with EPA. · Gas certificate/license will be preferred, but not necessary. · Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving Record. · The ability to travel between US and Canada. · Must be self-driven and possess the ability to stay engaged in your remote work environment. · Must possess the ability to work autonomously in your remote office and in performing field work · OSHA10-30 preferred 4. Physical Requirements: Technicians are required to sit, stand, and use their hands to touch, feel, and transport documents and products regularly. This is in accordance with industry standards for HVAC service technicians, which include managing heights while climbing stairs and ladders. 5. Travel Required: Up to 80% with overnight stays, plus 20% local travel when feasible within the base location. This includes projects with occasional short notice of essential needs that may arise. 6.
