Job Description: To work independently providing maintenance on residential and commercial heating and air conditioning systems according to company standards, providing each customer with a high-quality experience. In some situations, the technician may perform diagnostic calls. System sizes can go up to 25 tons. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. General business hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with some weeknights, weekends, and evenings as needed. Required Qualifications / Experience: • Must pass drug and background screenings • Valid driver’s license and insurable through company insurance carrier • Minimum of 1 year HVAC residential or commercial service experience • Able to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing • Ability to safely work with tools and equipment used in the trade Preferred Qualifications / Experience: • Completion of an HVAC training program Essential Duties: • Arrive at jobsite at scheduled time and location as dispatched • Relocate from one jobsite to another jobsite as dispatched during the workday • Report to dispatcher when arriving and leaving each jobsite • Operate company vehicle as needed • Follow instructions from supervisor and/or dispatcher and carry them out in a timely manner • Report problems with company tools, equipment, or vehicle promptly • Communicate with customers and collect C.O.D. on maintenance and demand service visits as directed • Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times • Complete all service-related forms properly and accurately • Provide customers with new or renewal maintenance agreement information • Perform routine preventive maintenance on residential and light commercial equipment with minimal assistance or supervision, including completion of maintenance checklists • Inform and educate customers on additional products or services available through the company • Inform customers of replacement options following company guidelines • Be available for on-call status for emergency service as required • Develop basic knowledge and ability to layout and install low-voltage wiring • Develop basic diagnostic and troubleshooting skills • Learn proper use and interpretation of testing devices • Develop soldering and brazing skills • Continue improving customer service and communication skills • Perform filter changes utilizing company checklist paperwork • Assist or perform planned maintenance on residential and commercial systems • Inform and educate customers about planned maintenance programs • Acquire new maintenance agreements when possible • Develop the ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams • Perform other duties as assigned Competencies: • Communication • Continuous Learning and Professional Development • Customer / Client Focus • Quality Oriented / Work Standards • Safety Awareness Work Environment: Work involves exposure to extreme temperatures, outdoor elements, and confined spaces, including rooftops, attics, and crawl spaces.
