Job HVAC Technician -1st Shift

Job Summary Performs all routine maintenance department activities and provides specific skills in one or more crafts at the Apprentice level. Key Duties Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities include: • Primary responsibility will be for performing daily preventative/routine maintenance on HVAC, and Facilities systems. • Repairing, maintaining HVAC equipment, utilities, buildings, and grounds. • Complies with all cGMP procedures, safety practices, and environmental regulations. • Performs all requests as assigned through the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). • Document work performed on equipment with service bulletins (CMMS). • Performs full range of maintenance activities up to the limits of skills and training. • Requisitions spare parts and supplies as requested. • Respond to emergency call-ins for equipment. • On-call duties will be required (on a rotational basis) due to environmental monitoring activities. • Communicate daily with co-workers and manager. • Use computer software to access maintenance files, procedures, e-mail, etc. • Ability to read, comprehend, and accurately follow company SOPs and guidelines and complete all paperwork as required. • Must maintain accurate and precise records. • Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills is required. • Must be able to work successfully in a team environment that requires flexibility. • Must be able to communicate in a professional manner both orally and in writing as well as interact with all levels of the organization. • Must possess good organizational skills and strong attention to detail. • Must be able to perform job requirements independently with minimal supervision. • Must be able to meet strict deadlines. • Able to perform under pressure and handle stressful situations along with readily adapting to changing job duties. • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel). • Able to maintain attendance and punctuality requirements. • May be required to work non-standard shifts, extended shifts, and weekends as necessary in order to complete work that would otherwise interfere with productivity in the affected department. • Must have the ability to work an on-call rotation as needed or scheduled. Other duties as assigned. • Physical demands may be high at times including working outdoors in extreme weather for extended periods. • Ability to walk up and down several flights of stairs throughout the work day in a multi-location facility. • Must be capable of working at elevated heights. • Ability to lift heavy loads up to 50 pounds on a daily basis. • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as required to perform duties in the production areas (safety glasses, gloves, lab coats, etc). • Ability to stand, stoop, reach, push, and pull carts/equipment throughout the course of the work shift. • Must be able to drive from site to site within the Meridian campus to perform maintenance duties. • Ability to concentrate, analyze, and problem solve or troubleshoot equipment or facility issues. • Must be capable of working extended shifts on short notice and participate in on-call rotation for systems monitoring. Qualifications Minimum Education or Equivalent Experience Required/Preferred: • A high school diploma or GED is required. • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in industrial/commercial HVAC/Refrigeration repair required. • Experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment is desirable. • Advanced technical training preferred. • HVAC certification is required. • EPA Universal certification is required. • Possession of, or ability to obtain, valid driver's license. • All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, or other legally protected status. HVAC Technician I, IUOE, Full Time, Second Shift

Job Description Performs HVAC/technician steamfitter work. Responsibilities Performs highly skilled pipefitting and installs, repairs, adjusts, or modifies all types of refrigeration, air conditioning, heating and ventilating equipment; replaces or repairs all supporting systems such as electrostatic filters, pneumatic and electronic controls, pumps and fan motors. Performs pipefitting and installs and repairs steam lines, expansion joints, traps regulators, bearings and valves. Plans, implements and performs preventative maintenance on equipment. Inspects installed equipment for proper assembly of components and compliance with technical orders, blueprints, specifications, handbooks and established procedures. Insures safe operational standards. Reads and interprets sketches, blueprints and layouts, determining amount of material and time involved; makes cost estimates; compiles reports, requisitions, work orders, inventory lists and project reports/records. May be required to instruct semi-skilled and skilled HVAC technician/steamfitters and trades people; assist in training new personnel; coordinate work with other trades. Maintains housekeeping conditions as prescribed by area. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Required: High school/GED diploma. | CFC Universal Certificate required. | Approved certificate from accredited related apprenticeship program and years directly related work exp.; or high school/GED diploma and 5 years directly related work experience. REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Skilled in installing, repairing and troubleshooting piping and HVAC systems, refrigeration equipment and controls. Able to read and interpret blueprints.
