Examples of Duties: • Performs HVAC installation, preventative maintenance and repairs on various types of equipment including split systems, package units, rooftop units, bay heaters, mini splits, etc. • Installs, maintains and repairs ice machines. • Operates specialized equipment and tools related to the trade discipline. • May lead the work of maintenance crews at the worksite, ensuring that the work is performed safely and efficiently. • Receives work orders, prioritizes and distributes them according to division procedures. • Estimates project materials from blueprints, and purchases necessary supplies. • Maintains records of all work performed. • Works extended hours, as necessary, during shutdowns of equipment and/or buildings. • Performs other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: • High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and 4 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Valid driver’s license. • Certified Master Tradesman in specific trade discipline. • Ability to use a smartphone, tablet, and/ or computer for work order management and unit diagnostics. • May also require certification in one or more of the following within 6 months of hire: • Confined Space Training • Respiratory Training • Swimming Pool / Spa Certification Other Necessary Requirements: • May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. • In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City’s needs.
