HVAC Technician III

Annual Salary: $58,305.00 - $62,400.00 Hourly: $29.90 - $32.00 Department: General Government, Maintenance & Trades Division: HVAC FLSA: Non-Exempt Job Description: $3,000 BONUS $1,500 ON FIRST PAY CHECK $1,500 AFTER 120-DAYS WORKED In this role, you will perform HVAC installation and maintenance at City-owned facilities. Examples of Duties: • Performs HVAC installation, preventative maintenance and repairs on various types of equipment including split systems, package units, rooftop units, bay heaters, mini splits, etc. • Installs, maintains and repairs ice machines. • Operates specialized equipment and tools related to the trade discipline. • May lead the work of maintenance crews at the worksite, ensuring that the work is performed safely and efficiently. • Receives work orders, prioritizes and distributes them according to division procedures. • Estimates project materials from blueprints, and purchases necessary supplies. • Maintains records of all work performed. • Works extended hours, as necessary, during shutdowns of equipment and/or buildings. • Performs other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: • High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and 4 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Valid driver’s license. • Certified Master Tradesman in specific trade discipline. • Ability to use a smartphone, tablet, and/ or computer for work order management and unit diagnostics. • May also require certification in one or more of the following within 6 months of hire: • Confined Space Training • Respiratory Training • Swimming Pool / Spa Certification Other Necessary Requirements: • May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. • In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City’s needs. HVAC/R Technician

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the maintenance and/or repair of a variety of HVAC-R and specialized equipment in an assigned group of 7-Eleven (family of brands) stores within a geographic area. Service calls are initiated from the store via 7Help work orders to appropriate technician. Position reports to the Area Facilities Manager. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: • Job responsibilities and qualifications may be superseded by local, state, or federal regulations • Responds to work orders for a wide variety of in-store HVAC-R equipment which includes, but may not be limited to minor repairs of HVAC, minor repairs to refrigeration, cold beverage equipment (ex. tea, fountain, FBD, FCB, creamer Machine), fountain/backroom ice makers • Responds to work orders related to plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance issues • Responsible for ordering and management of parts inventory for truck • Minor repairs to equipment (such as hoses, nozzles, fuel filters, decals, HVAC filters, water filters, etc.) as needed • Provide training for lesser experienced technicians as needed • May be responsible for training PM Techs on HVAC-related PMs • Responsible for replacing ‘plug and play’ equipment as needed • Schedules and prioritizes duties and work assignments on a daily basis • Completes required reports and paperwork daily to account for the time and use of parts and materials • Observes and inspects equipment to determine if servicing or further action is required • Knowledge of HVAC installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance • Proficient use of hand and power tools applicable to job • Knowledge of refrigerant recovery and safe disposal of refrigerant • Ability to perform preventative maintenance according to published guidelines • Proficiently reads, understands, follows, and enforces safety procedure • Working knowledge of HVAC/associated system employing computer-based monitoring and control devices • Knowledge of mechanical or electrical equipment, plumbing, utilities, distribution systems, and controls, including maintenance and troubleshooting • Proficient repair/replacement of building mechanical systems components, including programmable logic controls • Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills • Assigns work to (and oversees the work of) direct service providers in the HVAC trade • Understands and carries out oral and written instructions • Establishes and maintains cooperative work relationships • Works independently and with minimal supervision • Proficient at working safely and properly brazing refrigerant lines and components • Completes other duties, including special projects, as assigned by management EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: EDUCATION: High School/GED preferred YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 3+ years YEARS OF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE: NA CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES: EPA 608 Universal Certification required SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: • Show Leadership • Peer to Peer Tech support • Effective communication • Project /Stretch assignments • Time management • Facility location ownership • Ability to lead the team (meetings, projects…) If an hourly or salary range is included in this ad it represents the range 7-Eleven in good faith believes is the range of compensation for this role at the time of this posting.
