HVAC Install Technician

HVAC Install Technician Job Description Position Title: Residential Install Technician Reports to: Residential HVAC Install Manager Pay Classification: Non-Exempt Pay Type: Hourly Summary An HVAC Installer’s tasks include installing, maintenance, repairs, and service to heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems that control the air quality and temperature in buildings. HVAC Installers provide service and support for industrial, commercial, and residential HVAC systems. HVAC Installer services equipment on one job site or service various sites throughout the day. A large part of an HVAC Installers work often involves designing, fabricating, and installing a wide range of duct fittings and ducts required and wiring both indoor and outdoor units. Duties and Responsibilities As an HVAC Installer, you will travel to our clients’ properties, inspect their current equipment, find defects in their devise, and perform the required repairs or maintenance routines. The HVAC Installer must be skilled in cleaning, adjusting, and repairing systems. You will inspect and ensure that new systems work efficiently. • Inspect the effectiveness and safety of current customers HVAC system • Installing, maintaining, and repairing customers ventilation, air conditioning systems, and equipment up to current codes • Diagnosing HVAC systems for electrical and mechanical defects. • Cleaning, adjusting, and repairing systems, and performing warranty services • Maintaining a detailed inventory of all HVAC equipment and resources. • Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act • Participate in all technical training • Complying with service standards, work instructions, and customers’ requirements Requirements and Qualifications • Valid Driver’s License • Must be insurable • EPA Certificate preferred • State licensure and relevant certification • Punctual, reliable and must have strong communication skill • Able to get along with people • Strong verbal and oral communication skills • Attention to detail, prioritization skill, and time management • Motivational and communication skill • Knowledgeable and problem-solving skill • Able to follow instructions • Physically fit and manual dexterity • Familiar handling all tools and equipment needed for HVAC installation and maintenance • Ability to work after hours, over weekends, and on public holidays with short or no notice. The Service Technician I position is qualified and able to make repairs in the field but is not considered proficient enough to make diagnosis for the repairs unsupervised. The Service Technician I is expected to be proficient in the area of preventative maintenance work. Attitude, work ethic, and a willingness to learn is sought after more than skill level in this position. Service Tech II - The Service Technician II has required accreditations including EPA certification and generally has more than 3 years’ experience in the field of HVAC service and repair. The Service Technician II position is qualified and skilled in maintaining and servicing commercial grade HVAC equipment including but not limited to unitary products up to 50-ton package units, boilers, and heat exchangers without supervision. Service Tech III - The Service Technician III has required accreditations including EPA certification and generally has more than 5 years’ experience in the field of HVAC service and repair. The Service Technician III position is qualified and skilled in maintaining and servicing commercial grade HVAC equipment, including but not limited to, unitary products up to 50-ton package units, boilers, heat exchangers, control valves, chillers (including retrofitting) without supervision.
