Journeyman Electric Line Foreman

Full Time - Journeyman Electric Line Foreman Rolla Municipal Utilities has an exciting opportunity for a full time Line Foreman. This work involves directly supervising an assigned line crew and performing work in construction and maintenance of overhead and underground electric transmission and distribution equipment. Basic Duties: • Directly supervise an assigned line crew. • Perform hotline work on low and medium electric distribution lines and equipment both energized and deenergized, utilizing equipment requiring hot-glove and hot-stick methods. • RMU operates 4/12/34 KV distribution network. • Demonstrate the ability to climb utility poles, use voltage, phasing and rotation meters. • Operate and maintain vehicles and equipment including, but not limited to all RMU vehicles, trimmers, pruners, chainsaws, lawnmowers, weed eaters, chippers aerial devices, backhoes, trenchers, forklifts, digger derrick, skid steer, air compressor and generators. • Must be available for emergency call-out to assist with maintenance and restoration of RMU Systems. • Must be available for rotating weekend standby duty. • Required to work holidays through staff rotation schedule. Basic Requirements: • Graduation from an accredited High School or successful completion of a GED examination • Valid Journeyman Lineman Certificate. • Typically requires three to five years’ experience as a Journeyman Lineman. • Must obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification. • Applicants must possess or be capable of acquiring within four (4) weeks, a Missouri Class E License. • Applicants must possess or be capable of acquiring within six (6) months, a Missouri Commercial Driver’s License, Class A, Trailer and Air Brakes endorsement. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must be of good moral character, temperate and industrious habits, able to effectively deal with the public, able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and able to handle stressful situations. Must be a resident of the U.S.A. and legally authorized to perform work in the U.S.A. Must be able to read and write the English language. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test(s) and pre-employment physical(s) by RMU’s physician.
