Electrical Systems Technician

Elliot is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in overhead and underground distribution, transmission, substations, lighting, traffic signaling, utility locating and industrial/commercial services. Job Description As an Electrical Systems Technician, you will be required to review all types of electrical work in commercial, industrial and healthcare environments and document it for arc flash studies. As part of the day-to-day responsibilities, you will be completing the following: • Traveling to facilities outside of the local area with overnight stays • Identifying electrical components, deficiencies and documentation of existing conditions • Communicate with customers, facility personnel, utility providers and representing Davis H Elliot • Open and inspect transformers, motor control centers, switchboards, panels, control panels, and other electrical components safely • Reading blueprints, drawings, schematics, and other reference material • Capable of training and developing other team members • Able to work independently with minimal supervision • Operate tools and equipment according to company and OSHA safety procedures • Versatile to work in commercial, industrial, and healthcare environments understanding PPE requirements and following as required • Familiarity and understanding of NFPA 70E requirements Qualifications • Kentucky electrical license is recommended but not required • Understanding of electrical circuits and codes • Computer skills and ability to quickly learn and adapt to various software platforms • 5+ Years of experience recommended • Valid driver’s license • Own your own hand tools • Proficiency with NEC and local codes • Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug screening Benefits/Culture Today, we are listed among Engineering News-Records Top 150 Specialty Contracting firms. As part of the day-to-day responsibilities you will be completing the following: • General wiring installation and termination. • Installing EMT, PVC, and rigid conduit. • Installing light fixture and electrical devices. • Troubleshooting and completing electrical circuits. • Complete transformers, motor control, switchboards, and lighting applications. • Operate tools and equipment according to company and OSHA safety procedures. • Cleanup, tool and material organization, and general labor tasks related to electrical construction.
