Electrician Journeyman

As an Electrician Journeyman will work under the guidance of a Foreman or Superintendent in installations, alterations, additions, and/or repair of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment on any type project. Compensation aspects of the role are dependent upon knowledge, skills and experience. Principal Duties and Responsibilities • Lay out work and prep materials for electrical system installation on commercial and industrial project sites • Perform underground layout and rough-in. • Determine wire and conduit sizing. • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and hand or mechanical benders. • Install BUSS feeders. • Perform switchgear installation and terminations. • Install and connect power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus in new and existing facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints. • Troubleshoot and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment. • Operate hand tools and equipment necessary to perform all associated tasks. • Able to work from ladders, man lifts and other equipment at various heights. • Perform other related duties or special projects, as assigned Education, Training, Licenses and/or Certifications • 3 years of commercial installation experience preferred • Current / valid journeyman license preferred • Knowledgeable of National Electric Codes, understanding of electrical theory and its application to installations • Prior experience installing branch conduit, pulling branch wire, installing MC Cable, installing fixtures and devices. • High school diploma or GED preferred • OSHA 10 hour preferred • Skilled use of tools and installation methods used in commercial construction. • Able to work from ladders and man lifts from various heights and operate the equipment as needed Additional Requirements • Requires basic mechanical aptitude, mathematical and English language skills. • Maintain a positive, cooperative and teachable attitude • Initiative; self-motivated (driven), self-starter. • Complies and promotes company Safety Policy • Excellent communication and customer services skills. • Analytical and problem-solving skills • Must be able to work independently with and without supervision. • Ability to stand, squat, bend, stoop and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs. • Familiarity with blueprint, schematic, drawings, and other equipment layout materials • Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening • Ability to pass MVR check (if applicable) or must have reliable transportation • Ability to pass a physical ability test • Ability to travel, as needed, for projects Benefits • 401K match • Medical • HSA • Dental • Vision • Long-term Disability • PTO • Paid Holidays • Pet Insurance • Employee Assistance Program • Company Discount Program Disclaimer The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this job. Electrician

POSITION SUMMARY: The Journeyman Electrician coordinates work with other Maintenance staff and Contractors. Works closely with production to continually improve safety, equipment productivity and performance. Accountable for the upkeep and proper functionality of all electrical equipment and systems in the assigned facility. Success in this role will be demonstrated by the continued successful completion of assigned tasks with minimized equipment downtime. MAJOR TASKS: • Work under the supervision of Maintenance Manager • Ensure the proper functionality of all electrical equipment in the facility • Comply with all safety rules and regulations • Appropriate use and handling of electrical testing and repair equipment • Maintain electrical parts inventories records and place orders for spare parts and equipment • Keeping detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation • Read electrical prints • Schedule routine checks for spotting any malfunctions, following all safety norms and standard operating procedures of working • Coordinating work functions with co-workers and other organizational departments • Experience in reading, understanding and troubleshooting complex PLC programs • Maintaining a clean and environmentally safe work area • Completing all tasks and general duties as assigned

Industrial Service Electrician - Marion, NC

Primary Role: The Journeyman Electrician 1 (J1) works under the guidance of a Foreman or Superintendent and may oversee the direct work of small crew of Helpers, Apprentices, or other J1's. J1's routinely perform installation, alteration and/or repair of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment. Qualified candidates will also have the opportunity to learn and grown in other divisions of Amteck, like low voltage, controls, process work, and fire alarm along with other skill sets within the electrical trade. Responsibilities: • Work independently to measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and hand or mechanical benders • Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panel boards, brand circuit and feeder conductors • Demonstrate a working knowledge of circuiting • Read and understand project specifications, blueprints, and schematics • Lay out small areas of work from electrical drawings and project documents, including underground layout • Correctly determine wire, conduit, and junction box sizing • Perform basic troubleshooting of lighting and general power circuits • Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on the job site Requirements: • 5-7 years of experience performing electrical construction in commercial and/or industrial environments • Equipped with all tools required by company policy and able to use them to perform assigned tasks • Demonstrate the Amteck Way in daily work activities, behavior and decision making • Able to work project schedules including weekends and overtime • Has an interest and aptitude to learn job-related material through oral instruction and observation, typically in an on-the-job setting • Demonstrate a team-player mentality by listening and understanding directions, working cooperatively with others, and working safely without any threat to self or others • Possess basic mechanical aptitude, basic mathematical ability, and the ability to learn to read basic construction documents used daily • The willingness to participate in field training, whether it by OJT, classroom-based, or completely virtual While performing the duties of this job, employee is required to perform the essential functions of the rols with or without accommodations.
