Carpenter/Framer - Immediate Start

Gem State Staffing is now accepting applications for experienced Carpenters and/or Framers to cut, fabricate and install wooden and other structures according to specifications. Your job will entail working in diverse settings to produce steady and functional infrastructure and products. A carpenter is an individual with great hand dexterity and an eye for detail. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials. Working with little supervision while following all health and safety standards is essential. The goal is to contribute to the construction and maintenance of strong and long-lasting buildings and products. Responsibilities: • Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed. • Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material according to measurements. • Build window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items. Job Experience/Requirements: • Must have well rounded general carpentry skills. • Competent at all phases of construction from foundation through finish work. • Follow specifications and completing job on schedule and within budget. • Commitment to high quality work with excellent time management. • Responsible for promoting a safe and productive work environment. • The ability to perform layout and installation of framing and finishing of challenging projects with an ability for anticipating and resolving problems. • Self-motivated and able to maintain a safe and clean job site, become familiar with job site safety compliance regulations. • Carpentry experience, with demolition, framing (steel stud or stick) or finish work is preferred. • Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials. • Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction. • Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers, tape measure and saws). • Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times. • Good understanding of basic math. • Good physical condition and endurance.

Construction Laborer

JOB SUMMARY: A Construction Laborer is responsible for general laborer duties on construction sites. They may prepare sites by cleaning them, loading, or unloading materials, digging trenches, compacting earth, and removing hazards. Construction Laborers are essential to highway construction, utility construction, and environmental remediation. QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS: • High School Diploma or GED preferred. Any vocational training is strongly desired. • Must be at least 18 years of age. • Display a willing attitude to learn from others. • Possess a strong sense of personal responsibility. • Focus to work safely in close proximity to heavy equipment and underground utilities. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work effectively in a team environment. • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to get to and from work. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Able and willing to work long hours including day, night, weekend shifts as needed, and work outside of normal hours. • Able to walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently. • Able to work in outside environments being subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, and job hazards. • Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
