Framing carpenter

Griffin Construction is a small residential custom home contractor. We are currently looking for a framing carpenter with at least 3 full years of framing experience, someone who can read a set of plans and build what's on those plans but also have the flexibility to build in accordance with customer changes. We are also looking for an experienced laborer with some construction experience to join our team. We are a solid company that has no history of layoffs. Both jobs require heavy lifting, working conditions in Idaho's outdoor elements, working on ladders and heights. These are both long-term, full-time positions.

Apprentice and Skilled Framers Wanted

Have a line of residential framing projects coming up that'll require some additional manpower. Looking to add 2 apprentices and 2 skilled framers to the crew. Work is full time, year round, in Teton County, ID. Pay starts at $20 - $35 / hr depending on experience. Transportation will be provided or we can work out a fuel reimbursement if you want to drive yourself. I will be accepting applications and interviewing for the next two weeks and start hiring the second week of June. Qualifications for Apprentice Framing Carpenter • Strong interest in residential construction and willingness to learn • Some prior experience with hand tools or construction (preferred but not required) • Physically able to lift heavy materials and work on ladders, roofs, and in all weather conditions • Basic knowledge of measuring, cutting, and layout tools (tape measure, hammer, speed square, etc.) • Takes direction well and asks questions when unsure • Punctual and dependable with reliable transportation • Willing to work early mornings and long hours as needed • Can follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean job site • Team-oriented with a good attitude and strong work ethic • Willingness to travel to various job sites in Teton County, ID • Must have or be willing to acquire basic PPE (boots, hard hat, gloves, etc.) Qualifications for Experienced Framing Carpenter: • Minimum 3 years of hands-on residential framing experience • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction plans • Skilled with standard framing tools (nail guns, saws, levels, squares, etc.) • Capable of laying out and framing floors, walls, roofs, and stairs • Able to frame custom homes, additions, and remodels to code • Experience with wood framing and engineered products (LVLs, TJI joists, etc.) • Understands structural requirements and load paths • Familiar with IRC (International Residential Code) standards • Ability to work independently and lead a small crew when needed • Strong understanding of safety protocols and OSHA guidelines • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license • Punctual, dependable, and able to maintain a full-time schedule • Physically fit to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions • Owns basic hand tools • Willingness to travel to job sites within Teton County, ID • Positive attitude and team-player mindset Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: • Paid time off Schedule: • 8 hour shift Supplemental Pay: • Overtime pay People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply Work Location: In person
