Job Summary Perform varied carpentry tasks, including layout, framing, hanging / finishing gypsum wall board, painting, flooring installation, trim / finish carpentry, installations, doors. Essential Functions • Perform general construction tasks and perform carpentry work using hand and power tools such as drills and saws. • Assist co-workers during the course of a job; holding materials or tools in place while co-worker works on them; cleaning work area upon completion. • Work with individuals or teams of tradespeople on construction projects, with tasks including demolition and installation of partitions, ceilings, floors, fixtures, doors, windows, etc. • Assist in erecting and/or dismantling scaffolding and/or rigging used to gain access to high places. • Maintain machinery, equipment, and tools by cleaning, lubricating, greasing, oiling, etc., to ensure their optimum working order. • Operate automobiles, trucks, power tools, hand tools and other equipment as required in support of maintenance, repairs and construction activities. • Perform varied tasks to assist co-workers in the performance of their duties in a variety of trades (e.g. Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, etc.) • Perform routine related maintenance and repair, maintain machinery, equipment and tools, install glass, install and replace floor covering, and perform related work as required. • Perform related duties such as furnishing tools and materials to co-workers during the course of a job; holding materials or tools in place while co-worker works on them; cleaning work area upon completion. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure) • Ability to complete carpentry tasks as required for renovation work. • Possession of a current and valid Driver's License. • Knowledge and skill in the use and operation of handheld power tools such as drills, etc. • Knowledge and skill in uses of small hand tools such as pliers, chisels, hammers, etc. • Knowledge of the methods used in the care and maintenance of small and handheld power tools. • Ability to follow oral and written instructions. • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with others. • Ability to deal tactfully with others. • Ability to maintain a calm manner in emergency situations. • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects. • Ability to climb ladders and scaffolds. • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time. • Physical stamina and endurance. • Mechanical aptitude. • Manual dexterity. Work Schedule • Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:00pm. • This is a temporary, non-benefited position.
