This role requires a hands-on approach to completing projects efficiently and effectively while ensuring high-quality workmanship. Responsibilities • Perform construction materials needed for work ahead. • Execute trim and frame carpentry tasks with precision and attention to detail. • Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various construction projects. • Read blueprints to understand project requirements and specifications. • Engage in concrete forming work as needed for restoration projects. • Install fixtures, cabinets, doors, and siding with a focus on quality craftsmanship. • Participate in damage or renovation and restoration efforts. • Carry out heavy lifting as required for materials and equipment during construction activities. • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety standards. Qualifications • Proven experience in the construction industry with a strong focus on carpentry. • Familiarity with construction site protocols and safety regulations. • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately. • Experience with fabrication techniques, metal and wood stud framing is advantageous. • Strong maintenance person skills with knowledge of caulking, some flooring installation and construction painting. • Previous experience in the restoration industry is preferred but not mandatory. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role. • Must be physically fit to handle the demands of heavy lifting and prolonged standing during work hours. About the Role This position can be physically demanding and candidates must be able to work outdoors, at heights and travel as needed. Essential Responsibilities: Performs any combination of the following duties on construction projects, usually working in a utility capacity and by transferring from one task to another. Activities include but are not limited to: • Constructs forms and chutes for pouring concrete • Erects scaffolding and ladders • Constructs, erects, installs and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood and wallboard using hand tools and power tools. • Prepares layout, using rule, framing square and calipers. • Marks cutting and assembly lines on materials using pencil, chalk and marking gauge • Verifies trueness of structure with plumb bob and carpenter’s level • Erects framework for structures and lays subflooring • Builds stairs and lays out and installs partitions and cabinet work • May remove and replace sections of structures prior to and after installation of insulating material. • Metal stud framing • Working with suspended ceilings Ability to work without close supervision once directed on task. Obeys and follows all safety rules on the job site and encourages others to do the same. Maintains a good relationship with co-workers and works well with others to accomplish a task. Physical demands of this position include lifting up to 70 pounds occasionally; 50 pounds frequently along with frequent handling and reaching, occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and feeling.
